Why pay interest? Cut the spending when you cut the taxes. income and spending must be tied together or the politicians will spend money that they don't have. BOTH must be cut, not either. The Bush-era tax cuts were supposed to stimulate the econpmy and it clearly didn't work. Why are you beating this dead horse? Cut both and there is no problem. That is exactly what WE THE PEOPLE means.
well, if the economic growth was of greater value than the interest, then debt would be smart. so if the taxes slow the economy. and they do, then sometimes it is better to borrow and reduce spending later, let the economy run. this is what i would call a "stimulus". i know most people just define a stimulus as massive spending. perhaps the "spending" we do for stimulus should just be letting taxpayers spend. tax raises dont stimulate the economy. they just dont. ayn rand is a lunatic, but i agree with her ideas about the fallacy of the collective. we are really just individuals.
Only because GDP increased, but much revenue was lost compared to what would have been paid under the previous code. But the Bush government did not spend sensibly. Worse, it added huge unfunded mandates like a Trillion-dollar Health Care Bill and "No Child Left Behind". It added the two longest and most expensive wars in history (unfunded). It created more non-military government bureaucracies than Clinton did including the huge and notoriously wasteful Department of Homeland Security. A government that spends sensibly does not spend income that it does not have, it balances income and spending. The graph does not depict "healthy" revenue. It does not even define "healthy revenue". How can it if it doesn't chart spending in a similar curve?

A community organizer's job is to figure out how to scam the government for as much money as absolutely possible in order to get as many people as possible to vote for democrats. These democrats , once elected, send money back so that the community organizer can use it to buy votes for their reelections. Of coarse the community organizer and his partners in crime get to skim the top for their own salary. The loop continues and continues.
