Irrelevant. Starving the government of tax income that comes without corresponding spending cuts is irresponsible.
Well, I can make a fugging huge case for American research if you will make one for private jets. But, you aren't inclined to do that are you?
So, defend the tax cuts for private jets. What does it buy the United States of America for our billionaires to have their extravagant toys subsidized?
i can defend the tax cuts for jets. it doesnt matter what the company makes or who is getting the tax cuts, all tax cuts are good. lower taxes are always better, no matter who is getting them or why. lower taxes = more jobs. even if those jobs are some evil industry like aeronautics or jet-building or whatever. again, red is right, it is irresponsible to spend so much. but he is wrong that it is irresponsible to tax so little. undertaxing is good for the economy. it is bad for the budget of the government, but we the people are not the same as the government.
But this is absurd! Tax cuts without spending cuts forces us to borrow money and go into debt. The reverse is needed. Collect all the taxes needed to pay for spending, then cut the spending and use the surplus to pay down the debt. Once the debt is reduced to a nominal amount, then we pay as we go and maintains a proper balance between essential government and necessary taxes. Are you completely ignorant of the Constitution?
which is not a big deal, and can be remedied by spending cuts in the future. i think that mindset encourages even more spending. that doesnt sound all that bad, but i think if we dont lower taxes, we will simply end up spending more and more. lets compromise. the find a balance. lets agree that the first thing we should do is cut spending. no. i dont agree in theory with the idea that we can make real decisions as a collective. we are a nation of individuals. to do things together we take away the rights of individuals. and this is bad but necessary. but we should keep it at a minimum. enjoy your holiday, my friends.:usaflagwa
Hardly starving. You're half right. We certainly need the spending cuts. After the tax cuts were implemented revenue increased more than enough to cover prudent government spending along with inflation. Tell me why you think the revenue increases post Bush tax cuts were not healthy enough for a government that spends sensibly? If you don't come to the conclusion that the government has a serious spending problem then you must be a big government advocate. In order to balance the budget you need healthy revenue and sensible spending. The graph clearly shows we had healthy revenue. Now we just need the sensible spending. That will give you your proper balance.
