We all agree that every school every where has its share of bad fans. And we all agree that LSU does have the BEST fan base anywhere. Maybe it seems that people focus on the bad fans is because we dont have any middle of the road fans. They are either elite or trash. And since human nature is always more prone to foucs and remember the bad things in life this is the point of view people are left with.
We were there and I have to tell you that Tulane fans are just as bad. A Greenie behind me kept talking about the LSU whores every time our cheerleaders were leading a cheer. I frankly did not appreciate it, but my wife told me to just ignore it – Greenies are just Greenies. I would have been more upset if I a child had been with us. But I’ve seen this and worse from opposing teams in Tuscaloosa, Oxford and Lexington. I hate the fact that we have some fans that just don’t get it. I like the idea Georgia is looking at – banning fans from athletic events and revoking their season tickets if they get ugly and someone calls stadium police on them. The fact that Georgia is considering this step tells me the problem is big and widespread. I don't like the bad fans, but they're at all schools. I've been to enough college football games (not just LSU ones) to have seen it first hand. And my siblings are a bit older than me and were at LSU back when we played Tulane on a regular basis...Greenies know how to keep up with the "best" of the obnoxious fans :dis:.
Have been to the Swamp many times. I was there when LSU got their butts stomped. They had Florida fans with their keys shaking in my face telling me it was time for us to leave. Spurrier days when they didn't stop till they were ahead by 100. I am not saying it is just LSU, but what I am saying is we need to be better than everyone else. Kids don't need to be left out of the mix . . . . Football doesn't need to become a xxx sport. As a kid, I lived for LSU football. I can remember entering that stadium and just, wow, i still feel that way just thinking about it. I still get the goose bumps but nothing like when I was a kid. We need to keep the kids in the stadium. I wouldn't be the fan I am today if it weren't for my parents who always included me when they attended LSU games. Brings back memories. I can share a funny one with you. The first time I ever heard my father curse was at an LSU game. It was sort of under his breath but I heard it. The first time I heard the F word from my fathers mouth was when we played golf together not to long ago. LOL My father never curses at all. That damn golf will get you.
Yep if you watched the 02 Game on ESPN you would have seen myself and Big Wee sitting the the band doing the Gator Chomp as they went to a commerical in the 3rd Quarter! We happen to get caught on camera at least 5 times that game. Tailgating was the best!!! And all the Florida people we ran into were pretty good sports even after the ass whooping! There was those assclowns just like everywhere but all in all a good time!
I applaud you for speaking out against it. Don't let anyone tell you that this sort of behavior should be expected. Hang in there.
This is bigger than just a fan issue. It is a cultural issue: A few years back scummy idiots like these were weeded out or kept in check by society. They were shunned or made to feel ashamed or kicked out for indecent behavior. Now days, more than ever there is a strong liberal, socialist, communist push in America. This push is doing away with morality and any repercussion for behavior or lude actions. These people are taking away laws and/or not enforcing laws that are already in place. These godless people are slowly bringing the country down by striking at the heart of the country which is the AMERICAN Family! These people have slowly taken over the government by getting ignorant people to vote for them by promises of wellfare checks, free health care and all sorts of insidious lies and propaganda.
