Found this video with most of his action from MTSU and the Spring game. YouTube - Andrew Hatch Highlights
Hatch looked very good. Also judging from the few plays it looks like #77 McCoy can play some tackle or at 6' 5" and 330 anywhere he wants for that matter. He and Alem were having a battle. Couldn't tell too much about the cornerbacks.
He looks better than Flynn. Definitely more allusive and better scrambler. That pass on the roll out was difficult for Flynn (It's a difficult pass) but Hatch zipped it in.
hatch looked good in spring game. how does he look at practice? was spring game his norm? and if not his norm, can he bring it up like that every week at game time? comments? opinions? anyone in the know?
He appears to throw a good deepball and is very elusive in the pocket. If we can get him some protection, we'll be fine. My only concern is his mental toughness at the end of games. We all knew Flynn had it, making all those clutch throws, we'll see if Hatch has it soon enough...
Remember, a huge part of the QB's success has to do with the tools(players) he has around him and not many teams has the weapons LSU has. Advantage --> Hatch Examples of great QB's that never won a championship: Eli (lack of talent around him) Matt Ryan (lack of talent around him) Examples of average QB's(with minimal PT) that won a championship: Matt Mauck (loads of talent to work with) Matt Flynn (see Matt Mauck) There's a pattern developing here and it's in our favor.
