Word from a few of his family members in North Alabama pretty well say he's Bama's to lose. There is a sticking point right now, as I understand it. It may seem trivial...but, with teens now a day you never can tell. Schools that have been recruiting Smith have pretty well told him he can play anywhere he wants along the OL. Smith, wants to play tackle. Everytime he's been addressed by Shula on his playing position Shula has told him he wants him to play guard and that's where he see's a career for Smith at the next level. Will this have a lot of weight on Smith's decision? I couldn't tell you. I do find it interesting though...
That makes no sense. We may not get the guy, but we are still in it since he is still visiting us and has since eliminated school recently....
According to Bham Fishwrapper this morning, he had official visit to Alabama this last weekend. Will be at LSU this next weekend. Will decide between Auburn and FLA for last official visit. Never trust a 16 yr old son on news from now on. Called me and said that on Fox Sports recruiting that AS had committed to LSU. Sorry for the false report. I like that we are getting him after his AL visit. Hopefully we have a huge crowd for the bball game and do the same with him as we did with RP calling him out and making him feel good.
Apparently Shula has changed his mind. Now he is telling Smith he can play tackle, which is where Smith wants to play. This is contrary to the previous report, which said Shula told Smith he wanted him to play guard.
Do you blame Shula for changing? I mean damn if this kid says he wants to play tailback, he'd be back there! :hihi:
