- Did we block in the back on Chark's long punt return? - Should Devin have been penalized for targeting Stidham on that mad blitz late in the game? - Was Magee actually guilty of that false start penalty? - Was kicking the FG instead of going for fourth and inches the correct thing to do? - Should Malzahn have gone for it when he had his own late fourth and short decision?
Yes No Didn't see it Yes, since it worked out although I was yelling go for it to eat up more clock. Yes
No No I don’t think so Yes, see 5 runs before TD to end the half. Probably, don’t remember, don’t care
One angle looks like a BIB on Chark PR, but other angle shows a graze. My opinion on returns is that if it is transient and doesn’t really impact the play, don’t call it. Chark was going opposite direction and that guy didn’t have a legitimate shot at him anyway. In real time, I wondered more about a late hit, than targeting. On replay, probably targeting. BS call on Magee. Def jumped. Definitely felt FG was right call. Malzahn should have punted on 4th and 1 with lots of time left, but could see going for it too, since momentum was all LSU at that point. No right answer IMO.
yes. definitely a block in back. but fuck them! payback for the ‘06 game. targeting is not consistently called across the board. so who the hell knows. i personally do not think it was targeting. but i’ve seen less than that called. i’ve also seen worse than that not called. no. should have been called on defense. definitely correct call. fuck malzahn
As soon as I saw ot I was sure a flag was coming. I had one eye on the lower right corner of the TV the whole time Chark was runner down the field. I didn't breathe a sigh of relief until thr ball eas snapped for the extra point.
The zebras were nitpicking calls all night. I seem to remember a horse collar tackle on Guice that wasn't called.
