Did the government buy everyone antennas when tv came out? You either bought a tv and antenna or did without. It isn't the governments job to ensure that everyone has tv. Buy your own damn converter box or listen to the radio. stupid stupid government

I heard some retard government type explaining why there needed to be a delay. He was calling TV "a matter of public safety".

Next time someone files bankruptcy or has an IRS audit make sure you keep your TV's listed as essential property. :rolleye33::rolleye33::rolleye33:

Apples and oranges. The government didn't create a regulation that made your radio obsolete when TV came out either.

And the tv will not be obsolete with digital, you just need to spend a very small amount to keep it working. TV isn't something you can't live without where the government provides it or you can't survive. Believe it or not a tv is a luxury item and the government shouldn't be obligated to supply it for anyone. Drink one less 40oz a week for a couple of months and use that money to buy your own converter. It's just another free give away program for people too lazy to get off of their a$$ and pay their own way.

Just think of these coupons as another round of economic stimulus checks...

It was interesting to me how many people thought those stimulus checks were free money. If you typically get a tax refund, guess what? Your refund is reduced by the amount of your stimulus check. Basically the govt was just giving you your own money earlier.

And if you pay at the top of end of the tax bracket, you just saw your taxes spread to most of the non-tax paying public.

The last time I looked at stats in LA, it was something on the order of 8% of the filers pay 90% of the state income tax. Sickening...

There was a nice quote in today's paper from a gentleman named Hakeem. A masteful quote that ended with the statement, "Now send me a check." If he went to www.dtv2009.com, he could get one for $40...
