I'll reserve judgment 'til the whole story comes out if it ever does. Probably won't hold it against him (like he would care anyway). I was pulling for him to turn some heads and prove he still had it and maybe he still does.
If Amp left for fear of competition, let him go... Robert Lane ducked out for fear of competition and that led to a spot for Ryan Perrilloux and rings for Russell and Flynn. Amp's scholarship will be gobbled up by an elite WR in our next class. Miles now has a little something extra to sell recruits. The best part about this is the fact that the # 1 jersey is now available and may see the field on offense - it's the best looking uniform out there and it's been on the sidelines for three years. Amp doesn't make or break this offense. If you want something to worry about I suggest we all stop fooling ourselves into thinking that we are just fine without Broussard - we should stop with all the "stable of running backs" jazz and watch closely for the emergence of a RB who can go the distance and carry the load. Addai is not an every down back and an Addai injury early on would be a very precarious situation. Amp will not be missed and it's unfortunate that his time at LSU will always be remembered as one giant "WHAT IF..."
I really do hope you're right. I'm hoping the kid has a little more character than that. We excuse a lack of it all too easily these days.
Good point.... Wonder if he was frustrated by being behind (with his injury), and not being able to feel comfortable (with his position) on the depth chart and it led to some ill feelings??? I was so looking forward to seeing him play, too. Oh well.... The beat goes on...
Oh god NO. Dont mention that name. We still have a few more months before THAT name is on EVERYSINGLE POST.
I dont know what Addai you been watching. I think he could carry the ball every single play of the game. The guy is a mule and his legs never stop pumping.
addai is a lighter back and previously much more prone to injuries. in the sec, you need a true bruiser to carry the ball inside game after game. addai has never been an every down back in that aspect and its likely he won't be the same player if asked to do so. that's where jv comes in and has to regain his original form for LSU to be successful this year. no 2 ways about it. the deuce has to step up now as well. imperative.
Addai is bigger, stronger and faster than Vincent. Dont tell me Addai cant be an every down back. We dont need him as an every down back because we have Vincent and Carey, but if we did, he could be.
i disagree. we need an every down back the same way AU started Ronnie brown with caddi off the bench. you establish your running game in the sec with those type runners just like on any level. replacing those critical downs where alley carried the load may likely not be replaced. Addai could possibly do it in spot duty but i doubt week in and week out with the punishment he would take. i think it could cost LSU a game or 2 because of the loss of Alley. Maybe 3 depending on how JV and Shy perform and pick up the slack.
