I just found a hookup in Houston beings @CajunlostinCali totally cold shouldered me on his find. Will be picking up 1k of 5.56 on Wednesday. Thanks buddy!
The one I went to a few weeks ago the prices were generally above retail. There is a shortage and the gun dealers are taking full advantage of it. Most of the tables are licensed firearms dealers and will charge you tax. If you can find some individual there with a gun for sale you can negotiate the price and there will be no tax. I was tempted to buy a 9mm from a guy I met selling his own pistol for $400 but it was bigger than what I wanted. I paid $469 for a compact Walther 9mm at Precision Firearms but it doesn't have a safety either.
The licensed dealers, most of who are gun store owners will do a check. You have to find some independent individual to avoid the check.
I thought they stopped bc the last time I bought one there they didn't. Oh well. Martins likely clean.
