lsu-i-like is also more of a moderate than red. red favors policy that can only be described as socialist. then he defines his position with regards to these policies as "wait and see if they work". that isnt a moderate position.

kinda like saying "i am not a nazi, but lets give this hitler a fair chance. after a few million jews hit the ovens i will check the polls and see what kind of leader we have".

you cant favor things like cap and trade and obamacare and be a moderate. and refusing to oppose them is effectively the same as favoring them.

i am not sure why people bother to classify themselves as something other than what they are. it does not not upset me to admit that i am an extremist on lots of issues, relative to the mainstream. the mainstream, the middle, the moderate position is totally arbitrary and no more likely to be right than the extremes.

I would go further and state that a so-called "moderate" position is wishy-washy, refusing to take a stand, and is indicative of not really having a position at all.

of course it is. its reactionary to everyone else who stand for something. then you can revise history and be right on everything in hindsight.

it means you basically stand for nothing and let everyone else decide where you stand; principle-less.

Nobody believes that you're all that smart either. Fortunately, nobody gives a rat's ass what anybody else thinks around here. This labeling business is silly and doesn't change anybody's position.

Then make your case and be specific. You don't have a hope in hell of backing this charge up with anything except martinworld sillyness.

Quit repeating yourself. I already addressed this and you are demonstrably wrong. To say the bill has cannot succeed before it has even begun is extremist conservative, to say the bill cannot fail before it has succeeded is extremist liberal. The ONLY moderate position is to say give the the time to either succeed or fail instead of wild-ass guessing.

What ridiculous logic, it is no such thing! Your refusal to even recognize that there are moderate positions on both topics is something else I've already pointed out. What a bore. You got anything new?

I know what I am much better than you do and you know it. The question is why do you care at all? It's just a distraction you use when you can't argue a logical point.

Why are you people talking like being a Moderate is some kind of a good thing?

What you should be worried about is who follows the constitution of this country and who does not.

One of the hallmarks of knee-jerk extremism is the poor perspective from the ends of the branch. You two don't have a clue what you are talking about. You can't see from out there.

Neither one of you can make a case of this, either. There are damn few topics in FSA that I haven't taken a stand on and given my reasons in detail. My principles have been spelled out clearly. There are no topic's where I've "let everyone else decide where I stand".

You just don't like being opposed and find it easier to criticize the opposition than to refute the argument.

I say his is a moderate. Being a moderate doesnt apply to every issue, where he sits on the fence. He leans right on some issues, just as he leans left on other issues. He calls himself a moderate because he isnt lock step right or left on all issues. I think thats the definition of an independent and a moderate.

"giving it a chance" is favoring it, which is a liberal position. what matters is the actual policy, not how enthusiastically you claim you are about it.

when you have principles, you can actually take a stand on policy without trying it out and deciding after it has already been a terrible and destructive thing.

again, if obama introduces a huge big government program, it is not a moderate position to say "lets try it".

when you say "lets try it", you are basically letting others have their way, because you have no ideas of your own. to say "lets try it" about cap and trade, this is you aligning yourself with the extreme left. and you always let others determine where you stand. you quote polls that say bush was a failure. you quote a jury that decided coffee was too hot. you always bow down to public perception.

anyways, i will stop talking about red, i know that is annoying.

we dont mind being opposed. in fact, you almost never take a stance as martin continually and endlessly asks your opinion on MAJOR issues like cap and trade until forced in a corner. things so spelled out only an idiot doesnt understand yet he has to beat it out of you to have an actual opinion. you know, instead of saying you're pragmatic.

no one gives a shiit what you really are. its just annoying you continually want to claim to be something you are not. a moderate? you're so socialist-minded on most things its almost laughable you dont believe it.

like many have said, why anyone wants to label themselves as anything is such a ridiculous notion in the first place-- its just that--ridiculous.

being a moderate mostly means being inactive, fearful and apathetic once you cut through it. ie, reactionary as opposed to proactive.

**and let me clarify. im aware you eventually take a position. one you like to consider in the middle. but at such a snail's pace its ineffective, ineffcient and wishy-washy. its better known as hindsight.

I don't believe he's a moderate. I also think he knows he's a liberal. No offense but I think this is an extreme case of narcissism. If red admits to being a liberal or conservative, then he admits to being part of a group and/or dependent or in unison with many others.

I think red prefers the elitist attitude of pretending he (and only he) has the answers and is completely independent of anyone else in society. You see this a lot from professors and those who can't "do".

Sometimes I agree with red and I'll give him credit that he goes to extreme lengths to defend his position. I don't have to agree with him to respect his position. I just don't see what the big deal is with being such a non-conformist.

BTW...football season starts in less than four weeks.
