You are missing the point. The guy said "Americans to Obama: DON'T UNDERESTIMATE US!!". I was saying that "Americans" just elected Obama on a platform of change. It is disingenuous to suggest that now "Americans" don't want changes. It is only the republicans who don't want them. What fettering do you refer to? They owned all three branches of government and did as they pleased. Now they seem shocked that there may be some payback.
And now "Americans" are beginning to wise up to just what that "Change" encompasses. No one bargained for changing our fundamental way of life.
This right here is what makes this whole thing stupid. Some democrats (probably some republicans too) are voting the way they are just out of spite for the other party. Yeah, that's a great idea...vote for the opposite of what would be best for the country because you are so selfish that you need a little "payback". Do you dudes even realize how childish that is? Geez, grow up a little already. You have no idea how assuring it is for me to have people with the mental capacity of a nine year old having input on how the future is shaped.
Yes the system has become corrupt and the sheeple continue to follow the pied pipers right over the cliff instead of screaming for change in the system. I know that sounds crazy for a majority that just went crazy for coco puffs over a politician with no qualifications but a catchy slogan of hope and change.
The system has worked fine ever since it has existed. It's the people running the system that are manipulating it for personal gain that is ruining things.
If the system allows the people running it to manipulate it for personal gain then the system is not working.
Some Americans. Republicans. It hasn't even been implemented, much less failed, but you've got it all figured out already. What "fundamental way of life" are you talking about? Geez!
Not for spite, but for politics. The Republican majority rammed policy through with little regard for the minority opinion for years. It's absolute crocodile tears to now cry foul when the Democrats practice the same strategy. They learned it from the best.
Remind me of how well we manage Medicare\Social Security and how that shows we are ready to take on an even more complex task. Let's get something right before we keep throwing more dirt on the pile.
Are any democrats capable of justifying any of the ridiculous things they are doing without reaching back into the past? If you dudes were serious about fixing anything you would make your decisions based on what needs to be done now...you know, since that's what is relevant.
