I think Obama was calling for the UN to help with North Korea, not the pirates.

Still, asking the UN for anything is usually an exercise in futility. They are powerless when it comes to North Korea without the Security Council in agreement. Its a rookie mistake. He needs China and Russia for that to work and even though he agreed to meetings they rewarded him by essentially doing nothing at the Security Council. He is getting a hard dose of reality. His change of tone hasnt seen many benefits yet and it remains to be seen if it ultimately will.

But you know for a fact that its too soon for any of that stuff to happen yet!
You are about as impatient as I am in waiting for Obama to make the right choices!:shock::insane::lol:
There are plenty of nut cases like me that have predicted things and people thought they were nut cases until they actually came true!

    You are hired btw!:)

So start a war with N. Korea? I hope thats not what you guys are suggesting here. We tried tough talk for the past 8 years, that got us no where imo.
Also, he talked to Russia and China which both has done the same undermining for the last 8 years on Iran and N. Korea.

Actually, that tough talk spawned the Six Party talks which resulted in significant compromises from North Korea.

Obama agreed on face to face meetings with Russia and China only days before the North Korean missile launch. They rewarded him with doing nothing about it at the Security Council level.

Rookie mistakes that I hope he is learning from.

I agree on the success of Bush with N. Korea, but that wasnt tough talk, that was actually diplomacy. Sitting down and talking out the differences. He never threaten war with N. Korea.

Appeasement has begun. 8 years of it got us 9/11. We'll see what we get next...

It is patently revisionist to call my comment revisionist. It's barely even history. It happened. One would hope we'd learned from it. Apparently not. If we keep this up, we'll have a terrorist attack or some other significant power grab against our interests in less than 3 years. 5 at the absolute outside.

Potential adversaries respect one thing. Power. Soft power is the luxury of the undisputed hegemon. We didn't want to be that. So now we're kidding ourselves with this fuzzy idea that soft power will convince other countries, whose interests run counter to ours, to see things our way because we're "cool" now. We play basketball and use blackberries and sh!t.

    Standby.

Is it possible that we actually won't see an attack while the "chosen one" is in office. Simply because they know he won't respond? It seems that what they (those of the anti infidel belief) is a fight. They want to have us viewed as "unpopular" for bringing our war machine across the pond. I don't know, maybe I didn't have enough orange juice this morning? I think they will string this dude along and let him deplete our military to next to nothing and then break one off.

they may not even have to unleash an attack, they may just let BO and that idiot pelosi do all the damage. I hope America wakes up and changes this congress and senate drastically. If not, then at least throw a tent over that circus.

Alright. So who did Clinton appease for 8 years?
Also, the predictions a bit ridiculous imo and highly partisan.
appeasement is not catching the guy who actually attacked us, while appeasing his vengence in Iraq.
