You just said it, it's a Hollywood movie. I thought both movies were equally good. Not great, but worth watching.
I'm sure it's been said before, but thanks again for serving our country to help preserve the many freedoms we all take for granted. Especially all the families of the soldiers and their families who've made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms, I'm very appreciative.
Hear, hear. Agreed. The wives, and sometimes husbands, who are left here at home to do it all are indeed heroic IMO. And to do all of it every day not knowing if their loved one is safe or coming home just makes me catch my breath.
No, my dad is and I took "History of Viet Nam" at LSU, good course. I was in the Air Force/Air Guard from 88 to 95 when too much travel for work made me make a choice and leave. Sometimes I wish I had stayed in but hindsight is 20/20 as they say.
Thank you for your service. I spent 20 years in the USAF from '66 to '86. The year I spent in Nam was from August 1969 - August 1970.
I consider myself a liberal, but a lot of journalists I have a lot of respect for really screwed the pooch on this one. Anyone who enlists and goes off to war shouldn't be lambasted in the media unless they commit treason or terrible war crimes, fog of war incidents not included. If he killed a kid who was going to kill American soldiers God rest the kid's soul, and may the kid's parents rot in hell, but I'd kill a kid who was going to throw a grenade at my friends too. It is what it is.
