Anybody know anything about about Amazon Fire? How does it compare to Roku?

Amazon has a Toshiba 50" HD Smart Fire TV for $289 for Prime members.

No response so I went ahead and bought one. It has built in Amazon Fire which I don't know anything about but I hope I can still use a Roku stick with it.

Bought a new Sony 43 4K today. Sadly, we still have cable and are not tapping into the quality potential. eventually plan to all smart tv but only have two, currently so don't want other 3 sets to not have channel choice if we cut the cord now.

If you have DVR's on all your TV's you can record shows on one of the smarts and they can be watched on all of your units

My main interest is sports programming. I'll probably get Sling for the football season and attach an antenna to it for the local channels. LSU will have at least 2 games on CBS and the NFL is on Fox, CBS and NBC as well as ESPN. If LSU has any games on ESPN2 or 3 or U I'll just go to a sports bar to watch. I have Amazon Prime and I have a friends Netflix password so that will take care of movies. I am not really interested in HBO because they show the same movies over and over for a month.

Your bill at the sports bar would pay for the cable.

If it’s in your area, I can’t reccommend YouTube tv enough.

I rememer looking into it last year. What do you het with it that you can't get with Sling? YouTube TV was $35 a month and Sling was $20.

I get Sling so I can watch the PAC12 network,.. but the $20 package is weak, you need to upgrade to get the good sports.
