And after he gets stuffed for another negative loss or one yard gain, we sit down and think, "And Les still won't play Scott, because?"
I really hope alley has a huge game saturday night...and maybe give him some momentum for the rest of the year.
If you want any running back to have a great game, including Scott, you better be hoping that the O-Line has a good game. This is why Pro backs buy their O-Lines rolex watches and cars. They know who makes them look good.
It's amazing how much better the San Diego OL got once Ladanian Tomlinson was drafted. We are third in rushing in the SEC and JR has been sacked very few times. I think Florida never sacked him and Auburn only once. That is winning football.
I'm not saying the O-line is horrible but the # of sacks has nothing to do with run blocking. It's pretty hard to get sacked when you hand the ball off. I never said the line could't pass block. But the youth of the line has to be one of the bigger weaknesses of the team. This was known before the season even started.
I know for a fact the oline has problems run blocking. At one point a defender from Auburn met Alley in the backfield at the time he got the handoff.
Don't be surprised if you don't see Alley get one snap on Sat. The guy is an incredible talent, but the coaches are tired of the poor, pitiful Alley routine. They are not about to set an example that a tantrum gets you reps. If he earns his snaps in practice, that's one thing. The drama needs to stop and the kid needs to recommit himself to being the best person/player/RB we all know he can be.
I for one am getting tired of people saying things about someone they know nothing about. Alley does not put on a poor pitiful routine for no one including the coaches. He says what he means and usually means what he says. I know him personnaly and he is one of the best kids you whould ever want to meet. He is kind to everyone but that doesn't seem to matter in a place like this forum. Let him get his playing time and everyone will see if he is back or not. I am also tired of the coaches playing him when it is good for them and not throwing him a bone(so to speak) now and then. Maybe if they would have let him have at least one snap in the Tulane game things might have been different. At least the oline kind of blocked in that game. You can tell by Scott getting over 100 yards. If y'all want to keep cutting the players down thats fine but, remember that LSU is a TEAM of Players.
