I had a feeling this was coming. I am hearing he gave it his all this off season but others could tell it was wearing on him because he realized that carries would be very rare this year. The work ethic was never there. He tried to push himself but without a reward at the end of the dedication, he must of thought to himself what is the point. He just couldnt come to reality about that until now. Wish he could have pushed himself through the season to prove to himself that hard work is always rewarded even if it is not in the form of playing time.
Doesn't that make the third time he "Quits"? Think his mind has been made up for a while and he's only now been able to follow through with it. Sorry to see him go though, he had the tools, can't coach heart though.
No matter what else may be said about this situation, this quote is probably the bottom line. I thank AB for the memories of some great on field moments and wish him well in his life. ldskule: ldskule: ldskule:
Sorry to see him go but if your not100% focused in this level of football you can get hurt bad. Best of luck and hope you get your degree Alley . Too bad though you never like to lose depth.
I liked Alley since his freshman year, sorry to see him go, but I think I understand. Maybe he was concerned over getting hurt again and having no shot at the pros. Maybe he thinks he'll graduate, get in shape, see if someone takes a chance on him in the late rounds, or try to sign a free agent contract, and if he's in good shape and never took a chance his last year totally losing his career to another injury, it could work out better. There's a difference between risking an injury and not getting paid for it, and risking an injury and getting paid for it? Watcha think?
