I say NO!! But if Miles does put him in it better be for meaningful playing time. Don't put him in the game in the 4th qtr with the third string OL "just to get carries".....to me that will be a waste!

Yes, but not meaningful playing time.

Why...? It's not like we are worried about losing his redshirt.

maybe my comment of "will be a waste" isn't the right wording.....

i just think if you are going to play him let him run behind the first string OL....If he's ready to play then 'LET HIM PLAY'....If he's not quite ready to run with the first string, then why is he ready to run with the 3rd string and not have the opportunities he would have with the #1's...

Because it has nothing to do with ability at this point; at has to do with the mental aspect of the game. "Can I get hit, and get back up."

And I think they should baby feed him in a blowout

I agree....... but if they think he's ready and he just needs to get in there and get carries and get hit, then why not put him in early and let him run with the #1's?

I hope he plays, because that would mean that the coaches feel he is ready physically..... and if he is ready then I don't see why they would save him for "mop up". He's going to get hit regardless, why not let him run behind the #1's and have a better chance of breaking off a decent run and build confidence.

in the same sense, why not let him run against a team of 3's and build confidence?

I don't know what the plan is, but he WONT play much early if he does. JV has had too good a summer (maybe the best on the team), and he will be the everydown guy for at least a few games

I would just rather see him get some meaningful carries. I guess we will see come Saturday!

Regardless of "when" he plays it will probably only be 3-5 carries if he plays at all......but I don't see him stepping on the field.

But hell, for all we know he could start!!!!:hihi:
