All I got to say is that Im stuck in Cali now but grew up from 1968 to 1974 in the South end zone of Tiger Stadium , Id love to be there in person win or lose

You and many other got snookered. Jimbo Fisher was never coming here. He has a great job with an easier path to the playoff, plus he's getting divorced and he'd probably like to occasionally see his kids. That was never gonna happen. Coaches at major programs almost never make lateral moves.

 

It really sounds like we were played or caught unaware of market value to land such a big fish. Alleva messed up by misunderstanding how fickle our fan base is, by not realizing that plan b-z shouldn't have been les miles if plan a wasn't to keep miles, and by not understanding the market.

Still, it seems odd that Miles was paraded around like a show pony and is now going to stay. But what about Miles isn't odd, I guess.

There is another possibility that I have not seen expressed here.

Maybe Alleva's announcement to retain Miles is a temporary decision born out of crisis management (to let the media shit storm blow over) and Alleva is discreetly assembling a list of potential candidates to replace Miles, who will get replaced after whatever bowl game we appear in.

That would have been the best "plan A" in the first place rather than the fiasco we just all lived through.
