why does everyone hate Dieon for?? sure he is a cocky, arrogant, runs his mouth way too much, and sports some real flashy clothes, but does this make him such a bad guy. He has a right to be cocky and arrogant. He is one of the best Defensive backs to ever play in the NFL. Sure he wasn't the best tackler on the field, but they didn't pay him to tackle they paid him to cover the best Wr's the team he faced had. He for sure will be a first ballot hall of famer.

Do you all hate cocky and arrogant players?? if you answered yes then your probably hate every member of your favorite team. you don't hear about them in College that much but in the NFL they are in plenty of supply. I know there are some Saints fan here myself included so does that mean you hate Joe Horn?? for you 49ers fans do you Hate Terrell Owens??

Who said they hated Deion? I just said I thought he was overrated, especially as a baseball player.

the fact that he is beating two of baseballs greatest players for last on the poll says a huge amount.

I was just starting high school when Maravich was starting at LSU and I went to almost every home game in the old Ag Center. Even as a freshman he could do things with a basketball that nobody had ever seen even in the NBA. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks who were a pretty decent team at the time but its true that his teamates resented him, especially the other guard, All Star Lou Hudson. That kept him from really showing his stuff for the Hawks. When he was traded to the expansion New Orleans Jazz he started to dominate games at times even though he had very littte talent around him. Pete's last year in the NBA was with the Celtics during Larry Birds rookie year. I saw him score 28 points in the 4th quarter of a game to bring the Celtics back from a 19 or 20 point deficit. If he had stayed with the Celtics for one more year instead of retiring he would have gotten his ring. Before he died he made 4 videos teaching the basics of ball handling, shooting, passing and showing drills to teach how he did the things he did. If anybody has a kid who plays basketball I would highly recommend getting the tapes if you can find them.

Joe Namath was the game manager of a super bowl winning team (Jay Fiedler??)

The reason he is overrated is because he has this image of one of the greatest QB's of all time. I never saw him play, but when I was younger, and I would watch all those NFL films when I got home from school on ESPN, or listened to people rave about him I got the impression that he was top 5 all time. But if you look at his actual stats, he was an average QB, 50% ratio, 40 more interceptions than TD's. Those are bad statistics.

That is the definition of being overrated, having a reputation as an all time great, but having done nothing do deserve that reputation. Which is why he won the poll.
