The College All Star Game was played 42 times; the last one in 1976. The All Stars had a record of 9-31-2. Not good, but better than you'd expect considering most believe its a given that the worst NFL team would manhandle the best college team.
Disagree. Pros would win vast majority but the gap between the very best college and worst pros is. It as you would think. Back in the day, rookies rarely contributed early. Nowadays it’s common for a rookie to come in and be great really quickly. Plus the age of free agency and player movement means teams don’t have near the chemistry they once had. It would never happen but there are certain teams I would measure against a lowly pro team. Say, Clemson last year against Arizona from last year? Bama the year before that against Cleveland that didn’t win a pro game. I don’t think a college all star team would have that time to gel, but the best from the last few years have placed the majority of their starters in the league. It wouldn’t be as bad as one would think. Don’t substitute a season getting used to the competition for playing against one team in one game. One sorry nfl team, one game. I like this LSU teams chances against this Cincy team.
It was the hall of fame game every year. Can’t remember when they stopped playing the college players. They actually got paid in that game
I remember watching the last game. The Steelers were ahead 23-0 before halftime when a torrential downpour hit the field accompanied by a lightning storm, They never resumed the game and that was it for the hall of fame game.
