Best of the best of the best. Its always cute to think your <insert college sport team> could hang but there is just no comparison. Now if we could take the first/second All Am. teams, then we might hang for a quarter/half.
Back before most of you were born they actually played games between a team of college all-stars and an NFL team. Can't remember how many years they did this, but as I recall the All stars did win once.
Had Marshall not gotten hurt LSU would have had 3 1,000 yard receivers. That's just crazy. A truly amazing season. #TeamOfDestiny
This was back when guys still worked regular jobs wasn't it and didn't train year round, etc. The specialization of sports has skyrocketed in the decades since and thus so has the gap between the pros and amateurs.
All Stars played the defending NFL champions, Bad idea. The difference, though between a team of all stars and a college football team is that the all stars only practice together for a week or 2 and hardly know each other. Not a chance there is any team chemistry. I would take Joe Burrow over Andy Dalton right now and our WR's might hold their own. They practice against NFL quality DB's every day. The big difference between the pros and the college players would be on the lines on both sides of the ball. As a whole bigger, stronger with much more experience.
