#2. Scooter Libby was not a close aide of Bush. He was an aide to Cheney. Want on go on? There weren't 8 points there. If you read there was like 4. I'm 2 for 4. Bush didn't fail on Social Security. It needs to be fixed. He had a plan and begged for any from the Dem's....of which none were forthcoming. Not 6 years ago, Dem's stood before Congress with Clinton and said that Social Security HAD to be fixed. Bush puts forth a plan.....they didn't like it. OK, fair enough. He asked for other plans and they did nothing......stonewalled just like they have done for 5 years. If that's Bush failing, then so be it. He failed. Others think differently though and I think they failed. Now I'm 3 for 4. That's .750. Not too bad.
ok, ill take a look at red's list too: not his fault. blame the guys who wouldnt accept his plan. changing the world takes time. his long term plan for spreading democracy is a good plan and will take time but will ultimately be the best thing for the world. or i hope so at least. if that is true, then good, people shouldnt depend on the government. who cares? lowering taxes is good. plus the debt is pretty small compared to our huge economy. debt isnt evil. growth is what matters. we have done this to death. i am ignorant here and there is an ok chance you are right. dont care. good. protect us from terrorism. good for him. people approve of stupid BS. there are only two things that matter in a president. 1. they lower taxes. 2. they manage foreign policy to my liking. so even though bush is a loony christian, he is doing ok.
The thing is, Bush's approval ratings don't mean anything. He can't be elected again. All presidents approval ratings in the second term seem to slide downward the second term even Bill Clinton and RWR. I can't believe I put those two in the same sentence. Ronald Reagan was my hero and my favorite president of my lifetime so far! God bless RWR, his soul and the United States of America. :usaflagwa That city shining at the bottom of the hill! and the music starts, Hail to the Chief! salute :usaflagwa :usaflagwa
Not when you grade yourself! Bush failed on social security reform. Period. It was his plan--it got shot down. Pointing the finger at others does not change this essential fact . . . Bush failed to reform Social Security. Congress did not fail, they did their job as representatives of the people. Bush was out-of-touch with everyday American opinion regarding Social Security. And it cost him.
martin, you've become a lazy debater. You are not countering with facts and counterpoint, you are just being contrary and delivering one-liners like SabanFan, only less witty. Your responses break down into: three "Failure is actually good!", two "Who cares?", one "It's not Failure, he took an Incomplete", and one "His plan failed because it was somebody elses fault". Thank you for your insight.
I believe one-liners are much better than attacking the president using socialist propaganda as your sources.
I'm neither a marxist nor a socialist. Calling me names doesn't refute one damn thing I've said. If you can refute my statements with some propaganda of your own, then do so. But schoolyard attempts to discredit me by calling me a communist are lame debating tactics. Ever hear of something called McCarthyism? This is free speech alley. If you don't want to hear political criticism, you are in the wrong forum. Dissent won't be stiffled here.
Be specific. You never asked me to defend my source of information. You just made fun of them and suggested they were wrong without any corroboration. If you don't like a source I found, that's fine, I really don't care. But just because you don't like the source doesn't make the source wrong. You still haven't posted anything to refute the facts presented. Sure, some of these sources have an agenda, but one isn't going to find criticism of the administration on right-wing sites. There are plenty of right-wing sites you can post to counter any spin in the story. But facts are facts and you haven't addressed them.
