Alabama is in deep trouble. Their offense is good but far from great and without their 2-year starter they are in DEEP trouble.

These patsy's they have played....will not hold up

Marc Guillon passed Spencer Pennington for the #2 spot on the Bama QB roster. We are going to miss Brodie. Many of us thought this would be his year. But we must move on and Marc Guillon is our man.

Guillon is a native of Chico, California and attended Miramonte High in Oakland after the eighth grade. Miramonte HS is something of a quarterback factory, sending Ken Dorsey on to Miami and Drew Bennett to UCLA, among others. Then Miami HC Butch Davis offered him a scholarship before his junior year, though he hadn't even been a varsity starter. Guillon threw for 4,750 yards and 43 touchdowns his final two seasons in HS. Rivals ranked him the #7 QB in the nation even though he didn't make hardly any of the combines due to him running hurdles with the track team.

Guillon played in two games as a freshman at Miami but had his season ended by a shoulder injury and was redshirted in 2003, then transferred. In his first game at Miami he was 3 of 5 for 53 yards and 1 td. When politics at Miami started pushing him down the roster he felt Miami was no longer the place he wanted to be. Marc has relatives that live in Tuscaloosa and would probably have signed with Alabama out of HS but he didn't feel comfortable with Dennis Franchione's style of offense. So, with Mike Shula coming in, Marc did transfer and sit out last season.

Marc got most of the work this spring with both Brodie Croyle and Spencer Pennington out with shoulder injuries from last season. Marc was awarded the Bart Starr most improved QB award in training camp. Against WCU Guillon was 5 of 7 passes for 71.4 yards and 1 TD. We are all wishing him the best, it is his team now.

It wouldn't do much for LSU's self esteem either.
