The BCS is not perfect, this is not a new revelation. We all want a playoff but it ain't gonna happen. But what we have now is much better than what we used to have. At least Bama has to play us again... and win... before they can claim another national title. Before the BCS they would have already printed championship banners because in their teeny, tiny minds they outplayed LSU the first time... even though the scoreboard at "Brian Dennehy" stadium disagrees. Besides... you know Okie State is not the second best team in the country. LSU and Alabama would embarrass the Cowboys.
I think those that wanted a playoff made this all happen. It's the only way to get those idiots out west that run the rose bowl to get off their arse and allow a playoff. Now they all know that two sec teams can play every year in the bcscg. It has no be set that it's possible. Now it can happen again. That's what they want the hard headed bowl people and university presidents to think. This was meant to bust the bcs. The voters that placed okie state so low wanted two sec teams in so the system will collapse. It blatantly obvious. Okie state took the fall so that a few with power could push an agenda. Okie state had the quality wins and championship over bama. Bama won so that the bcs could be put under the spotlight and demolished.
So you didnt, so by that logic, if LSU wins exactly the same way it did the first time, Alabama is "still better" Does LSU even deserve to play you phuckin guys? Geez
I have to say, as an LSU fan, I was indifferent to who made it to the BCSNCG against us, until I listened to Mad Dog radio and College Football radio sunday morning on the way home from my daughters gymnastics meet. I think both AL and OkSU would pose a challenge to us, but for different reasons. Think about this scenario. If Ok and OkSU were both undefeated this weekend and AL (or LSU) was sitting at #3 with one loss. And lets say OkSU loses to Ok by 3 on Ok's or even OkS's home field. Would AL or LSU be happy seeing those same two teams play for the national championship? I seriously doubt it. I know that the "game of the century" was one month ago and closely contested. But it was contested with full understanding of the ramifications ... LSU #1 and AL #2 (not just some usual meeting between conference rivals or even highly ranked teams). 1 vs 2 at 2's house. Winner with good chance of going on to NCG and certainly not the loser. Regardless of who you think outplayed whom ... AL did not get it done, knowing full well those circumstances. Another thing... OkSt played Iowa St 6 nights after the previous game, and it was a road game for them, so even less prep time. Iowa State had a bye week - nearly 2 full weeks to prepare. Not saying that makes the double overtime loss any less excusable, but Im just saying. After thinking it over, I honestly felt OkSt deserved a shot. But I am glad AL is coming to see us. I have heard over and over how they are the better team. AL lost to us once, and watched as Oregon, Stanford, Oklahoma all lost to pave their way. OkSt did what it could to prove the deserved a shot, and it was not enough. Be careful what you wish for AL, because now you've got it.... :tigereye:
The next time, they give you a big shiny trophy and throw a mean parade. At that point, you shouldn't worry too much about mine or anyone else's opinion of your football program.
"Its about the best 2 teams, its about the best 2 teams wah wah wah" Would a win over Iowa State, make Oklahoma State better than Alabama and one of the best 2 teams?? Because, It is afterall, about the best 2 teams right? Thats what you are supporting!
