    Saban will pull a Meyer.

    Step one: announce retirement
Step two: work for ESPN for one year to keep the ego happy
Step three: take the biggest job out there, Texas, and act like the whole thing wasn't planned

You have to be mentally tough, for sure, but I've heard he's mellowed some over the years. Still though, it can't be as much fun as working for Les.

Not really a surprise that he's staying until after the game. Pelini stayed with us through the '07 NC game after Nebraska hired him.

    Exactly!!!!
That Texas job is becoming more attractive by the moment. Saban could dominate and own that conference including Snoops.:hihi: He would also get a new statue, status and have his own tv network! I would say though that I get the LSU drift and how good our team is but its not just that, its playing in the SEC period vs Big 12. That league isn't use to the defenses we have in the SEC including Saban's type. That is mainly an offensive league.

Not only all of that, but would you rather live in Austin or Tuscaloosa?

    I hadn't thought of that!!!:hihi:
Let me put it to you this way, I have lived in San Antonio, been to Austin, 6 street many times. I have been to Bessemer and Birmingham, if Tuscalosa is worse than that well....I think I would rather be in Texas, Austin would be much better. At least Texas has a cooler mascot also!

If he lost Kirby Smart, he'd be out of Alabama quickly. Just as much as the Chief means to us, Kirby means to him. As far as McElwain, he's okay, but their offense isn't explosive.

In all honesty, we need to do a much better job of controlling the screen pass to #3 and the wheel route to #3. They burned us plenty on those, pretty much their only big gain plays.
