Two things: Under Saban adjustments were made "on the fly"; the defense did NOT watch the Offense much at all. I've not been paying attention to the sideline this season so I cannot speak much about what they are doing now (no adjustments were needed, really).

Second, it's not so much as "manning up" but play selection - of course, execution is critical which is "manning up" when necessary.
