There's no question is was done to influence the election. The question is who does it really help? Conventional wisdom tells you it helps Bush. But if the media spins this thing as CNN and ABC (nightline) was doing last night, then it may not. They are promoting the idea that Bin Laden wants Bush re-elected so he can use that to recruit more terrorists during the next 4 years. They were claiming that Bush is so hated that he will attract more bad guys to Al Qaeda than Kerry. The spin will be interesting this weekend...
True, but voters listen to the spin ... and some aren't smart enough to see through all that spin!
True that. In this morning's paper, the reporter was at THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE asking for opinions on Bush's economic policies. To top it off, one of those interviewed complained that she hasn't been able to find work for 6 months and somehow, in her opinion, it's all Bush's fault. I happen to know her personally, and what the article failed to point out is that she is a freakin' crack addict. Think that might have something to do with her jobless status?
i just caught the last 20 minutes of a "political" call-in show on one of the local urban-type radio stations here in town. at first, i thought it was a joke, but sadly it was real. the caller called in to complain that she voted absentee the other day and was mad because the republican in the congressional election was on the ballot ahead of the democrat. they said they noticed the same thing with Bush/Kerry. the host and his in studio guests stated it is an obvious attempt to confuse voters. nevermind the republicans name started with an L, the dem a T. another caller said they noticed the same thing and it looked like they were trying to trick people into thinking the republican was actually a democrat. the host once again confirmed this was an obvious attempt at trickery, and warned listeners they should be ready to endure attempts at intimidation on tuesday, with "people in suits" questioning their right to vote. sadly, the in studio guests agreeing with him were a state representative, a jackson city councilman, and a hinds county supervisor. this is pathetic. i wonder though, if you don't even know who is the republican or democrat in a congressional election, should you really be voting for either one?
They are about as informed as the lady at a rally supporting slavery reparations who screamed "I want my refund!"
