If they are going up like that, sounds like tour operators are involved. The package deals will come out once the announcement is made Sunday. Ways around it, fly out of another city, like Houston, and/or into a city outside of the market (Vegas, Reno, even Sacramento). If you are willing to drive as much as 6 hours, you can fly into those three cities, plus you can add San Jose, Oakland, and SF. Also, there is an airport in Santa Barbara, so you could do that. It's about 2.5 hours up the 101.
booked my flight, hotel, and rental car today for a total of $630......flying out of memphis (where my sis lives) on saturday and coming back on tuesday. We are staying about 30 miles north of Pasadena. Once i find out the name of the hotel from my sis i will let ya'll know and see if anyone else is staying there. got it thru Orbitz and payed and extra $50 for the option to cancel at anytime up to the time of departure at no charge other than the $50. Also a little hint....... CALL the travel agency, no matter which one (cheaptickets, travelocity, orbitz).... we looked and found the package for $630, then 1 hr later it was at $800, my sis (ashgeaux) called and asked about the change and they gave her the earlier (cheaper) price under the condition that she booked it right then.
Victorville? Lancaster? At least you got it done. Enjoy the trip, man. I am sure you will have a great time! :thumb:
We bought protection thru oribiz with our travel package.....it was an extra $50 per ticket but will be worth the $50 loss should something happen and you not be able to go. We can cancel up to the day of departure and get a full refund (other than the $50). I believe many airlines and travel agencys offer this protection. Call and check before booking.
Well, I found a solution to the higher airfare problem. SKYMILES! Had about 250,000 that were collecting dust in my Delta account and my mothers and we combined them. 5 people, 50,000 a piece, times we wanted, get to fly into LAX (3 miles from my hotel). Plus, only a $50 per ticket fee to cancel and get my miles back. Delta 1252 Coach - 29 Dec 2006 MSY 5:30pm ATL 7:58pm Delta 422 Coach ATL 9:40pm LAX 11:57pm Delta 152 Coach - 3 Jan 2007 LAX 1:40pm ATL 8:53pm Delta 1079 Coach ATL 10:00pm MSY 10:37pm Seemed like good deal considering we needed to be leave/be back at specific times for work. Same flight woulda cost us $1,100. We were planning on using the miles for Europe because flights cost about 100,000 miles or about $1000. So 50,000 miles for a $1,000 flight combined with a one in a lifetime opportunity sounds great!
2 roundtrip tickets from Atlanta to LA X on Delta 100,000 skymiles. I got 3 nights in the Marriott in Arcadia for 60,000 Marriott points. Living out of my suitcase for the last 2 years is finally paying off. Now, all I need is tickets.
how'd you get skysaver? Well you are in ATL. SInce Katrina Skysaver has been impossible here. -nevermind...i'm retarded and can't add
If you have the flexability and the miles a little trick with Delta is to book sky choice and then the day of your flight call and see if they have any tickets available on sky saver. It usually works.
got a ticket on continental from btr to lax for 477. if we don't get invited to the rose, i'll just use this as a vacation. i tried getting tickets from 12/30-1/2 and the tix were too much. i got tix from 12/31-1/3 for 477 trying to get in touch with Ali Landry for a free place to stay with her.
