    Deficit chart, unemployment chart, home value chart, consumer spending chart, etc. etc. etc. ?

    Care to prove your first statement that the spending was helping?

    Posting a chart proves nothing if you don't relate it to your statement.

    How can spending not help, when the economic problem is a slowdown in spending? My statement was "Overnight? None of it. By this time next year? Almost all of it. All it needs to do is get spent to help drive the economy." That means it will take some time to work and you have given it none.

    We have been spending for the past 8 years. Didn't work.

    The economic problem is a slowdown of spending credit. People living beyond their means. Bubble popped. Now let's spend more to keep the slowdown from happening? That sounds ass-backwards to me.

    We've only had an economic crisis for 8 months. You're still confusing the national debt with the economic crisis.

    While our leaders are tripping over dollars to pick up pennies, the ramifications of the "bonus" flap are beginning to manifest. Way to protect that $180B investment.
