You don't understand it because, like every politician and media hack in the country you don't have any idea what really happened and don't take the time to find out.

On a different note...only 82 more days until the analog to digital switch FINALLY occurs. :)

Well...better make that 82 days until the next extension occurs as someone will surely claim they've been disenfranchised. :nope:

Don't insult my intelligence, you arrogant azz. You don't know what I've taken the time to find out. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they're uninformed or stupid. I've read evey one of your posts on here, and also a large amount of other explanations, and bottom line is, these payments are indefensible, IMO. Thats my opinion, and we both know what opinions are like, including yours.

You are wrong, but go ahead and enjoy your outrage, while Obama prints another Trillion in the White House basement.

Just to rebut one of your points. This is a tax on everyone over 250k. Why don't you move to Manhattan and see how rich you are making 250k/year. These aren't all indefensible millionaires, they are mid level people who didn't have anything to do with it.

Should these execs be paid their bonuses? I don't know because I don't know how the contracts were structured. Probably not though. However, TCO should have made this deal going in, not after the fact. If you make a bad deal, you have to live and learn, not change the law. And such a dangerous law too.

It's already rearing it's ugly head.

Just one of the many issues that will come up if the bonus tax passes.

The bonus tax is an unconstitutional bill of attainder. It really should not even be considered, but our congress has proven to be dumb enough to try.

Even if we gain an equally idiotic series of court decisions, I think Sabanfan noted that many of the bonus recipients are foreign citizens. We won't get a dime back and we shouldn't. We elected morons that wrote the amendment and then passed the buck, and morons that passed it without reading the bill. The president did a nice job showing us how upset he was, even though the request was generated from his admin. I am sure his treasury sec is just a loose cannon though. No chance Obama knew about it.

If we want a change, we have to change congress, because if the constitution can be disregarded in this case, what will be the next one? Because there is always a next one...

Worse than that IMO is the attempted regulation of pay at ALL banks.

So why is he developing this plan for a foreign summit meeting and where exactly will the "oversight" stop?
