Absolutely. If Bowe doesn't drop the TD in the endzone (which we missed the FG on the next play), this is an ENTIRELY different ball game.

We've thrown the ball downfield this year, but how many are those are called go routes versus Russell improvising when a play breaks down? It's clear Russell likes to look downfield to make a big play. I just wish the coaches would call more of them to stretch the field. It would open up the short passing game.

Did you like the conservative playcalling on the last drive? Did you really want to play for overtime in that situation? I think that is what separates good teams from great teams.

Right now, we are a good team...

    Its not rocket science.
The only reason why passing was 50% on first down is because we passed
and opened up the offense once Auburn took the lead.
Before Auburn took the lead it was run on first pass on second.
    We played conservative.

Just for the record I didn't know JR wasn't 100%, absolutely nothing was
said about this that I ever saw.

Come on, please do not point out any inadequacies by the previous staff, it's not fair to those trying to make a bogus point. And because we won a National Championship all things Saban could have only been perfect. Don't you see that? :hihi:

I agree with this too. The drops have to stop. Like Miles said before the game, we haven't played a complete game yet.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to BostonBengal again.

Why don't you go find yourself another team. You sure ain't an LSU fan. You are all ass and nobody is going to kiss it here. Maybe in Auburn.

    Offense -
Great job on improving turnovers and penalties. JR didn't look comfortable until the TD drive in the 4th. He seemed to hold on to the ball way too long (I'm sure this was the best coverage he has seen on the WR's) and he seemed to get "happy feet" early in the pocket. Although he is very good on roll outs. He was not nearly as accurate as he has been but that maybe due to his wrist.

The play calling was very predictable except on the TD drive in the 4th. Run on 1st every time. The running game just never got any momentum. I was very happy to see them use Skyler after ignoring him last week. No doubt there was heat put on the staff about that. It seemed we ran a screens entirely too much. There should be more timing patterns with short drops. Remember when Bowe? took a 5 yard post and JR hit him with a short drop. It is hard to defend that and that gives the QB and WR confidence.

The drop passes took the place of INT and fumbles from last week. That was unbelievable.

    Defense -
A lot of bad tackling and poor angles. The injury to Pittman hurt a good bit on that side. Did he come back in? I don't specifically remember him coming back but if he did he was nowhere to be found, whereas before the injury he was everywhere. The front 4 had a solid game but the DB's left some people wide open, but they did a solid job in all. Leron brings the heat. He had a good game. Prude is continually improving. He really made me nervous early in the season but he is doing much better.

Thank God for the wind last night. Good job by C. Jackson for the great kick into the wind.
