I realize we pitched a shut-out. I just think sooner or later sloppt tackling will bite us in the backside.
We didn't miss TOO many to be quite honest, we just didn't touch him until he got 4-5 yards... It is like the team was asleep, then when they were about to score, we would buckle down... It was the same against North Texas too... We would bend, but not break
Bend any and let Darby get past the line, and you will be broken. Like another LSU fan said...Darby is quick and elusive--you had better not let him get into the open field.
I just dont think they were into it tonight. They are the same group of bruisers, they'll came with it next week.
If he couldn't do it this past week, he won't to us... I do understand you faced the class of the SEC this weekend though, so maybe that is why your offense struggled :hihi: Speaking of being broken: How long is your center out for? Is it season long?
Unfortunately yes, he's out for the year. You have to hate it for him no matter who your team is. The way this season is going, nobody on that field wants to be out. Darby had a pretty good game today. 126 on 22 carries isn't bad at all. Also, 3rd stringer freshman Jimmy Johns had 66 yards on 12 carries. The way your D has been giving up rushing yards like that to AU and ASU, I wouldn't be so sure that you will stop KD...I think he will get his yards.
Yeah. Our pass defense has improved considerably, but I'm like you, I think our run defense has slipped up a bit. Auburn, North Texas and 'Bama are all definately "run-first" teams. Appy State, with the Walter Camp Semifinalist at QB was thought to be a pass-first attack, but they showed that they will run....and run with success...
I agree. They came out an lit up the score board last weekend. They knew they could win Appy St. if they just played ball...nothing fancy. Play calling was probably limited due to preventing injuries. If we would've put up 50-60 on the board, I don't think that would help us much this week in the BCS. They know what's up for dinner this weekend in Tuscaloozer, and I guarantee you that switch will be turned on. I bet we will see the most impressive display yet....our Tigers will be HYPED!
RE, we are fans of the same team, but I have to point something out here. Besides the QB exchange, there isn't a lot of difference between Closner and Britt and Britt is a transfer from UAB where he wasn't seeing playing time! The interior of our OL has been one of the most glaring problems all year long... I like JB...good guy, great heart...so don't take this as me harping or criticizing JB. He was a fRan recruit and we see how well fRan does with OL recruits, don't we?
