One of those incomplete passes was that TD dropped in the endzone. LSU scored 42 points in the last 2 1/2 quarters of play (10 minute mark of the 2nd quarter to 2 1/2 minute mark of the 4th). In the NFL that's a 158.0 QB rating (perfect is 158.3). The dropped TD prevented him from a perfect rating during that time.
I was thinking about this as I watched him take apart the Texas defense. 3rd sounds about right but if he goes on to win the Heisman, he'll go no worse than 2nd round.
Unfortunately, he'll never snag a Heisman due to the anti-LSU bias in the voters. When an LSU player gets close, they are ultimately judged on whatever big loss (usually Bama) was on the schedule instead of being judged by the entire season.
Fournette was the runaway favorite for the Heisman until Bama but blame that on Les Miles, not Fournette.
These were his 5 incompletions. Drop by Chase for a TD. Drop by CEH for a first down. Drop by CEH (but he got hammered). Long pass down the sideline (late hit on the QB). Long pass attempt down the seam on the last drive (Jefferson was being held up on his route).
