1. Yeah, guys whose talent exceeds the level of coaching, guys who improve despite a lack of ability from their head coach.

Miles isn't the problem? Quarterback problems for how many years? First and second down run up the middle...oh third and long? Better throw the ball now.

Russell Shepard, Kieland Williams, Bolden, Allen, Hairston, Hatch, Lee, Rivers, and a whole gang of mfers that you never heard of.

Miles may be a family man, may be awesome in the locker room, may be all buddy buddy with his players, may even coach em up during the big cat drill.....but X's and O's.....on the football field....during games....he reminds me of Fonzie on the waterboy....

  3. Here's a list of just the WRs and TEs since 2006 I would argue were (or are presently) wildly under-utilized and mishandled, or were simply victims of horrible QB play.

  4. Dang. That's rough.
  5. One has to realize that Les Miles cares not about a strong passing QB (ala Zach Mettenberger). He wants to play defense, special teams and run the ball 50 times a game. He wants to pass it less than 20 times if he can help it. Look back at the 2011 regular season and that QB combo averaged right at 20 passes per game. It was the perfectly crafted team in Les Miles' eyes. He never thought in a million years that it would not be good enough to win him a national championship.

Les Miles wants nothing to do with this new age of the passing QB in college football. He will have "3 yards and a cloud of dust" engraved on his tombstone.

Harris should be looking into that transfer that's been rumored about.
  6. Like I said in the game thread, Les' ideal QB is Blake Sims. A guy who can reliably make 5-10 yard throws and the occasional scramble when the play isn't there, while letting the run game do its thing.
  7. I think that would be good enough.
  8. I agree with this, with one caveat, what happens when season tickets start to tank? I say you start seeing less and less season tickets start getting picked up if this shit show continues. Yes we will have a game like ole piss each year but this kind of mediocrity, a ton or new seats put in that might not be getting filled, boosters getting pissed, and frankly looking like a laughing stock after losses like this makes me think the powers that be find the money.
  9. And here is a great sign that even the fanbase has gotten into a mindset of "well I guess we could live with that at QB".

Why do we have to "settle" for being decent at QB? Last I heard we have a QB guru as our OC. Yet Leslie wants a team that does not center it's offense around that position and it all actuality tries to hide this most valuable position.

  10. Therein lies the problem. What Bama is being forced to do out of necessity is what Les envisions as the ideal for his scheme. With the current level of competition in the West and the emergence of pass-heavy offenses everywhere, this mindset will relegate us to 8-9 win seasons indefinitely.
