No. What YOU need to get over is that letting Randall play does NOTHING for us in the long run. If Randall is the starter, then next season, when he's GONE, we're right back at square one--Except instead of us trying to develope an inexperienced RS-Freshman, it'll be an inexperienced RF-Soph.

Sorry, but I choose to only go through the learning curve once--not twice.

If you were one of those that was dreaming of back-to-back National titles when we have an offense consisting of a SR QB that was only 2-4 as a starter heading into the season, and a RS-Freshman QB as his backup, along with Freshman and Soph. WR's expecting to get the bulk of the playing time (save for Skyler), then you should be passing around whatever it was you (and I mean a general "you") were smoking.

Did I think we were talented enough to win the SEC West dispite the things listed above? Absolutely! Do I still feel that we have the talent to contend, albeit with a little help from some other teams, to make it back to Atlanta? Sure do.

Do I think we're a ledgitimate New Year's Day Bowl participant? Yes. It'll take a lot more work, but all of us knew that it would.

This team will win 8-9 games this year. Book it.

It seems that for some fans, it all comes down to allowing Russell to start, and really nothing else with no other options. For some reason Russell can't develop during this season as a backup, I'm not sure why, but that seems to be the general feeling on the board.

All this playing to not to lose crap is off base. If you knew anything about WINNING football you would understand that physical teams try to run the ball to speed up the game clock and take away offensive possessions for the other team. Some fans won't be happy until we have a PAC 10 offensive system . . . pass, pass, pass, punt, then repeat.

See, none of us are at practice. None of us really understand how much Russell knows and how well prepared he might be. Of course that doesn't matter, we should throw Randell in the trash and give Russell a free season to develop (only as a full time playing starter) while the rest of the team goes through the motions (again, for just one player). This superstar crap is getting old, Russell had a bad game yesterday. He had the ball in his hands the entire 4th QTR. He couldn't get it done, he couldn't lead us to a score, and threw an INT. However, Randell is a dog because all he did was lead us to our only scoring TD (a pass no less).

No one here is 100% right, and as fans you have every right to bitch, moan, and complain. But it sounds more like whinning, exactly like the FL fans last year who couldn't get their lips off Leaks ass long enough to understand that football is still a team sport. Sorry, and I'm sure my "rep" points will take a nose dive . . . but all this whinning is for little bitches. We lost a close game, there is no shame in that and I seriously doubt starting Russell and giving him all the snaps would have changed anything.

I must warn you your opinion of Russell's playing is 100 % correct and it will make all the lil cheerleaders on the board mad and they will pout. :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob: :sob:

They need some shirts that say Jamarcus state Univ. they think he is Shaq o neal. only for football. My best way to describe JR is he is a diamond in the rough, he needs work. BUT you don't throw a season away to overhaul your QB. maybe one day this boy will be what these folks make him out to be but it aint today or last week.

Saban told us what the deal was in his report, I'm sure not alot has changed since last week.

Jimbo Fischer needs to run some old smash mouth running football/ roll out option type game plans to help Randall, and yes he needs to start and stay in if he produces.

THE biggest thing is our O line. I saw some Auburn players run right around the end and flat out over power our line. Out run them too. The truth hurts, our O line needs some work. A QB and RB's are only as good as the O line.

All these new terms "west coast offense" throw the ball, etccc..

there is nothing wrong with playing ball control and running out the clock... IF you can MAKE first downs running the ball. When we did have sucess with Alley B. we got away from it on the next series. just too many inconsitances on all parts coaching, playing etc..

BUT we're still 2-1 and if you're gonna lose it's best to lose early. We are one of the better CF programs in the NCAA. so things could be alot worse.

I bet Saban has our line and the whole offfense doing something extra this week in practice!

You have got to be kidding

But , run up the middle, run up the middle, run up the middle, to end the half is playing to win when you couls be trying to score.

Before you question someones else understanding of how a football game is won you need to check the crap that is spewing from your mouth.

AND SINCE WHEN has LSU been a PHYSICAL team. Was it just me or havn't we won by speed and flat out beating teams down the field.
YEAH that sounds like physical game plan there, get your facts straight before you question others.

Calm down. I think I have an idea of how to play football. I played at Curtis, my brother is a coach, my father is an official, and my grandfather coached as well. I come from a ball control background, that doesn't mean I am 100% right, but all this throwing the ball crap on every down is PAC 10 ball. Trying to outscore the other team with your "fast" O, is also PAC 10 football. Football games are won in the trenches, and on the defensive side of the ball.

Understand that none of us are 100% correct, I'm man enough to admit it, why can't anyone else. Guess what? What works on your PS2 doesn't exactly translate onto the real field.

LOL, when I was at Curtis we threw the ball twice a game, at most. Curtis isn't a good example, and didn't mean to throw that out there like I know everything. Like I've said, no one is 100% correct here, football like most things in life is subjective. I tend to be more conservative when it comes to football, I like ball control and physical defense. There are plenty of successful high schools in La that use passing attacks. And someone from that background would favor that style. The one thing successful football programs have in common is good smart defensive play. :)

Even with my old school type background, I understand the importance of passing the ball (and keeping the defense honest). A lot of our system is dependant on reads. We have to try and keep in mind that we played against a very good defense yesterday. AU is no ArkSt, and they were prepared for us. It was a defensive battle, that was won with field position more than outstanding offensive play.

I still feel our passing will come together . . . that our timing will be better, our play calling will expand, along with a more effect short passing game. Which will open up our running game. Let's not take anything away from AU, they also played a good defensive game which limited what we could do. I just don't like laying blame all over the place for losses. Losing happens, when it does you have to pick yourself up and build off of it.

So i guess if you got any of JT's thinking that makes you a god.

I sure as hell don't want a PAC 10 team either, but you gotta admit going into to the half, the plays they were calling were weak. Its not about winning or losing in the trenches. I love smash mouth football, there is to much emphasises (sp) put on these moblie qb's and west coast offense I hate it. But LSU is not a smash mouth team anymore. They and it pains me to say it are a finess , now i know i spelled that one wrong, team.

And in todays game the smash mouth team are going the way of the good politican. They are dying out, and fans must learn to adjust.

Like are not we are a speed team and there are only two ways to beat speed, 1. Wet condtions, and 2. Bad play selection.

But being a man from the crookest high school coach to EVERY walk the face of the earth, let me ask you something.
WOULD the selftitled God of La. high school football every run a 2 Qb system?

No, but it sounds like you're holding Randall's jock strap.

Advice: Don't be a child and make immature comments ("tee tee their lil panties") because someone has a difference of opinion in the QB situation.

You want to have an opinion that differs? Fine. Great! That's what this forum is all about. But quit being a little punk with the "tee tee" comments because you sound just as much in love with Randall.
