Excellent post! Hammer meet nail and right to the point.

Slive's legacy will be as the commissioner that allowed the ACC to take over the SEC's spot at the top of the CFB food-chain. At a time when the conference needs strong leadership to fend off a competitor like the ACC, Mike Slive is seemingly nowhere to be found. :dis:

bs. nothing can be done to change sec dominance. it will always be decided on the field, and given the good coaches the sec has and the home-grown talent, the sec will stay on top for the foreseeable future.

I thought that until last year when an undefeated SEC team was left out of the NC game. And we are one bad half of football (Tenn game) away from possibly making it two consecutive years that an undefeated SEC team left out of the NC game.

Kramer would have paid enough money to someone to make sure that didn't happen!

This Auburn team scares me. If they can be a top 10 team after lossing 4 first round draft picks, then the competition for the West will be very interesting over the next few seasons. Hopefully their OC leaves soon... :hihi:

LSU was the better team when the teams met. Now there was some luck in us winning, but I think we win that game 75% of the time if it was to be replayed a few times. Last year, Auburn only wins that game 40% of the time - so they shouldn't be complaining too much.

If Bama had any spirit in them when they played Auburn, this argument wouldn't be taking place. The main reason it is taking place is because Bama came out & laid an egg with their Oline giving up on Brodie & making Auburn look better than they really are.

I wish we were in a position to find out. I don't think Kramer could have done anything about it. Leaving an undefeated LSU team out of the BCS championship game, one year after overlooking Auburn, could have shook things up a little. USC and Texas being 1 and 2 to begin the season pretty much screwed us, or anyone else, from the start.

We go to a plus 1 next year. I can't wait to see how bad that gets screwed up.

How does everyone think a plus one would play out this year, assuming that Texas beats USC and we win in the Sugar?

Disagree. I firmly believe this is nothing more than ESPN sucking up to Tubby after he blasted them. They know he was right and they want to kiss and make up.

I don't hear anyone other than ESPN making this claim about Auburn being the best in the SEC...

I hate the idea of a plus-1 system. Assuming everyone wins out,you would have LSU, Penn St., VaTech, and Oregon all with 1 loss, and at least a decent arguement to be included. So who would the other two teams be? You could remove Oregon for not winning their confernece. But would you toss VaTech for losing later in the year than LSU and PennSt.? Or LSU for losing to a team not going bowling? I can't think of a good reason to leave out PSU though.

Disagree. It's not a far reach to say Auburn is the best & ESPN is not the only one saying it - they are just the most visible.

ESPN has no reason to suck up to Tubby. His team has been impressive & deserves to be praised. No sucking up necessary.

don't look now, gumborue, but the ACC has caught the SEC and may soon surpass us if our leadership continues to slumber.

Check out the coaching rosters. Bowden, Coker, Beamer, Amato, Friedgen, & company.....

They recruit the very same talent that we have always considered "home grown," and in many cases they are getting the commits.

They are out-marketing the SEC and outspending the SEC in developing their facilities - both athletic and academic.
