Actually, Michigan won their appeal and is eligible for post season play this season. They still had to forfeit 112 victories, and will lose one scholarship per year for four years, starting in 2004-2005. http://www.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/stories/092503aad.html
I think thats pathetic, it proves the point I said yesterday. The NCAA has a Gestopo mentality, they discriminate. They don't treat everyone fairly!
i may get blasted for this, but here it goes. the conference is the NCAA's answer to the multiple problems that have been created in college basketball over the last couple of years. Big incidents include Baylor, Georgia, Fresno St, St Bonneventure, and Minnesota. The goal of the conference is to generate ideas on how to run professional programs with better moral ethics. Brady is right that he works for LSU, but he is a member of the NCAA. This meeting should not be optional in my opinion. Dale Brown would not have bitched once about having to go to this meeting, as would no other respected coach at a respected program. Bottom line of this conference is college basketball is "dirty" right now. Don't be surprised if you see a similar meeting for football coaches after this year thanks to Ohio St, Nebraska, and all the other programs caught cheating and players beating up fans.
