It looks like Rex has left the building, ladies and gentlemen. Guess we are once again the victims of his "embargo". :sob:

I may be right about religion. That is a subject that none of us will find out the truth of until we are dead.

The current crop of liberals are not any fun to argue with like Cottonbowl'66, tuwho and biggles were. I could always count on provoking Cottonforbrains into accusing me of being a secret Ku Klux Klan supporter.

No offense, Bengal B, but knowing Martin, y'all are about to turn this "Rex's ass-kicking" thread into an argument on religion. If so, grant me one request, start a separate thread. Whad'ya say?

    Rex!

Come out, Come out wherever you are!

Come on now, you promised you would converse with us. Please help me understand how you came to believe that Saddam was not supporting terrorist.

At least be a man and say you can not defend that position you so eloquently put out there.

Actually, it speaks rather highly of Rex that he won't respond. Unlike our other resident liberal, he is smart enough to know when he doesn't have anything to support his argument, so he remains silent to avoid exposing his ignorance on the issue. The same, of course, cannot be said of the other guy, who will remain nameless.

But Marc... He can't sleep now, our fellow countrymen are dying and he needs to defend them.

I can tell you what his standard response is when he's been outmanuevered:

"War for oil...where are the WMDs? Why is Bush's lead in the polls so small in a time of war? Bunch of leghumpers...war for oil. Where are the WMDs? Bush can't walk and chew gum....war for oil. Leg humpers. Headed for (name the all-you-can-eat buffet of choice here)...war for oil."

Not bad assesments, Martin. Even looking through Martin-colored glasses, I think you are about 75 percent correct. Since I'm the world authority on Red55, I'll' grade you on that one.
:) Reasonable, yes I try to be. Liberal . . . not exactly. I'm to the left of you and certainly to the left of some of the hitler youth around here, but in the broad scheme of things I'm a truly a centrist and a moderate. I just can't go with the GOP this year, this ain't Reagan's Republican party. B-.

 My ideas are my own and I watch a wide range of media including FOX, CNN, MSNBC, and BBC. Certainly we are all influenced by the media, but I do not walk in lockstep with any particular source. I do not worship media icons like Limbaugh, Russert, Hammity, or O'Reilly. I actually read a great deal--newspapers, periodicals and old-fashioned books. C.

:hihi: Centrists do not just sit on the fence. I'm leaning left in this election, but not going out into liberal La-La land. Sometime I lean to the right. I voted for Reagan and even for Dubya last election. Not this time. I will not ride the hellbound train. Next election . . . who knows. B+.

 Well, that is actually quite perceptive of you. That has been said of me before. Around my very liberal collegues at LSU, I'm considered a conservative. Around here I'm considered a liberal. I have argued both sides of an issue to different people on the same day. You are the reining polemic here in FSA, you should know a contrarian when you see one. A+.

 Ah, now you're just trying to discredit me. I win most of my arguments, amigo. You must have lost a debate with me recently. Keep telling yourself "red55 isn't very bright, red55 isn't very bright" and you'll soon believe it. But you would be making a mistake. D.

Finally something we can agree on, Red. It's why I'm no longer a Republican, but an Independent. A conservative Indy, but an Indy nonetheless.

I heard somebody put it very well recently (maybe here on FSA...I can't recall)...there are no Democrats and Republicans anymore. The Republicans have become Democrats and the Democrats have become Socialists.
