Damn, I think I have a saimese twin or something . Everything you said applies to me as well man, except that I'm frickin terrified of spiders--althought I think that stems from having someone I know die from an alleged spider bite when we were both like 8 or 9.
But, a little more about me: I'm 20 years old. I'm a Mass Communications (Print Journalism) Jr. at Nicholls State. I also plan on furthering my education at LSU one day. I'm a devout Catholic although it rarely shows (shame really.) I enjoy hunting, fishing, and camping in the WONDERFUL state of La. I'm not really political, but I'm registered to vote Democratic. I dislike people who vote for particular candidates just because of where they live, or without researching EVERY petty detail of said candidate's life. I think of myself as being slightly conservative. I voted for Kerry for President (Personal reasons abound for this, but I knew he had a snowball chance in Hell's shot at winning La.) I also voted for Bobby Jindal for Governor--my frist Governor and Presidential elections. I consider myself "old-fashioned." The way of today's youth doesn't appeal to me much at all. For me, hanging out with my good friends under the stars, around a fire, drinking beer, all while listening to Hank Jr, is about as good as it gets. Chevy trucks always--nothing else, nothing less. I'm a drummer--been playing for 12 years. I listen to everything except what you would be likely to hear on MTV, and the like. Pink Floyd is my favorite band. LSU Baseball is the first thing I got "into" with my dad when I was younger (besides hunting and fishing, of course.) We definately enjoyed the runs of titles through the 90s. I never really followed LSU football until 1997 when, after LSU had just won a consecutive title in baseball, my love for the university grew to include those "other" sports. I am now a die-hard LSU fan who will defend "his" school 'till he's blue in the face. My favorite place on this planet is around Ville Platte at Lake Chicot. It's the closest to heaven I think I've ever been. Very relaxing. Favorite Import beer: Becks. Favorite Domestic beer: Sam Adams. Favorite Campfire beer: Budweiser. Favorite Whiskey: Jim Beam (Crown if you're buying lol.) I don't smoke, enjoy running and biking. I also like long walks on the beach with.... Oh well, :geauxtige
I'm still wondering if I will come down from my first acid trip and it will still be 1969 and the last 35 years have all been a dream. :hihi:
I fished with my cousin on Friday and Saturday. On Friday we caught (keepers) 160 chinquapin and Sacalait (77 chinqs and 83 sacalait). Yesterday we came home with 128 (74 chinqs and 54 sacalait). All I'll reveal is that it was one of the lakes near Morgan City. :thumb:
Every once in a while, somebody puts up a post that really makes me homesick. :bncry: Thanks a lot.
I'm a 21 year old who at the start of the fall semester will be a senior majoring in English - Literature. I don't have plans after graduation really. I imagine I will teach high school English and help coach basketball and then come back to school for maybe law, MBA, whatever. I am a sports junkie who is obsessed with trying my very best to become the next Schwab. LSU is obviously my favorite college sports team but my 2nd favorite is OU ( I am from Oklahoma). Other favorites include University of Tulsa, University of Kentucky. Favorite professional sports teams are as follows: !Boston Red Sox!, Dallas Stars, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Manchester United, Dallas Mavericks I love Jim Beam and Coke, beers of all kinds. I am currently working on my Around the World at The Chimes and would be done had I not run out of money! I love music, favorites include: Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Pedro the Lion, The Decemberists, Neutral Milk Hotel, Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, Bjork, Deltron 3030, Helio Sequence, Clem Snide, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Red Stick Ramblers, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Widespread Panic, Beastie Boys, Aesop Rock, The Unicorns, Broken Social Scene, Pavement, The Mars Volta, Kid Koala, Cannibal Ox, Wilco, John Vanderslice, Dntel, Beulah, Bedhead, Starlight Mints, Bright Eyes, Calexico, Shearwater, The Good Life, Spoon, The Jayhawks, The Pixies, Bonnie Prince Billy, Appleseed Cast, The Futureheads, Bob Marley, Company Flow, The Guild League, Her Space Holiday, The Notwist, Matt Pond PA, Outkast, Snow Patrol, The Polyphonic Spree, The Shins, Frou Frou, Phish, Patrick Park, Sunny Day Real Estate, Belle and Sebastian, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Simon and Garfunkel, Tupac, Jay-Z, Superchunk, Frank Sinatra, DJ Danger MoUse, THE ARCADE FIRE, Blonde Redhead, Earlimart, Le Tigre, Cortez del Mar, Moving Units, Cursive, Mates of State, Desaparecidos, The Bravery, The Killers, Ben Folds, Elliott Smith, Built to Spill, Elefant, Ben Kweller, Enon, Air, TV on the Radio I obviously read quite a bit with my major and some of my favorites are The Things They Carried, Death of Ivan Ilych, Dangerous Liaisons, Huckleberry Finn to name a few. I leave June 15th and I cannot wait to get up there. I tend to get overly involved on campus but I think this next year I'm going to take it easy and keep the clubs and organizations down to a minimum, not too mention I'm not going to be involved in Student Government at all this year. Maybe I'll finally start concentrating on that GPA. I plan on making all of the away games this year and expect us to win all the games we play. I'm not saying we will every game, but why should I expect anything less?!? I love LSU and cannot wait to get out into the real world when I can make some money and contribute a little bit to LSU to help anyway I can to make this University reach its full potential. LSU's potential has just barely been tapped and Louisiana and it's residents need to realize how valuable a resource LSU is and give it the funding it deserves. And here's a picture for all of you...
Don't get in too much of a hurry. There's plenty of time for working. Many of us out here working would probably like to be where you are. :hihi:
Sorry about that. If it makes you feel better, work will keep me off the water for a couple of weeks. :bncry:
With that haul you made last time out, you don't need to go out for a while. I bet you, the family, and the neighbors are eating fish for the next 6 mos. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
