I have Muscular Dystrophy, hence the gimp moniker. I can lift my feet higher than 6 inches I just like to make people feel sorry for me.
My adds- I'm a decent roulette player. Blind guessing seems to be my forte. Being on the field at the CWS was a very moving experience. I’ve been on top of the PMAC and played slip and slide at The Box. I spent a month and a half in studying in Japan. I started learning French in First Grade. I hate doing anything at the last minute and consider myself the complete opposite of a procrastinator. I believe being late is rude. I love to travel and try to take road trips whenever I can. I don’t like shrimp, scallops, tea, diet coke or dr. pepper. When I get frustrated I tend to say some not so nice Cajun words. I like the Braves, Cubs and Astros. I’m not very big on the NFL or NBA but I have been known to cheer for the team with the most former LSU players or cutest quarterback. I seriously considered going into politics and can still see myself moving into that arena in the future. I plan to go back to school to get my master’s in Political Communication in a few years. I like to pay off all of my bills in full at the end of the month. I’m not a big shopper- I really only spend what I have.
MB lives in Austin. Heard her on Austin radio this morning, campaigning FOR the smoking ban. Don't really agree with her on that, but I like the lady's music.
That's a tough way to do it. Good luck in wrapping it up. Let us know when you get you paper. I'll buy you a cyber beer. :hihi:
My youngest sister lives in Austin and sees her occasionally. She was in Denver last year and I had plans to go, but a last minute, unscheduled trip to the UK ruined those plans. My brother works for the same company as her oldest brother and they run into each other occasionally at meetings. Small world.
Greg, 29 years old, grew up in Gonzales, La. aka "The Jambalaya Capital of the World". Graduated in 93 from East Ascension High School: Went to LSU on full academic scholarship in 93. Dropped out of LSU in Spring of 95 due to being a broke sob! Lost scholarship in doing so. Worked for a year for Scwegmann Supermarket on Sherwood. Eventually became the assistance purchasing agent for the store. Discovered alcohol during that time frame. Found that I truly loved Jack Daniels ollllle Tennessee Whiskey. Was old enough to buy it when I started the job, then the law was changed and I was suddenly unable to. That's ok, the store manager bought anything I needed for me. :hihi: Went back to LSU in the fall of 96. This defied several people who told me I'd never go back. Started working for the new Office Depot on Sigen doing computer sales. Went to college full time and worked that job 30-40 hours a week. Was now paying for my tuition so every bit of money I could get my hands on was crucial! Summer of 97 I took on a new job doing errands for a computer service company. Changed my major to Information Systems -- my third major -- having started with Industrial Engineering, then going to Computer Science. Ended up doing just about everything imaginable for that computer business from sweeping the floors, to handling orders, to doing invoices, to finally being bold and asking my boss to consider training me to do service work. LOVED that type of work. Started working the job full time during days in spring of 98 and goign to classes full times at nights. Quit drinking at some point during this time frame. No time to go out any more, sort of just grew out of it. Eventually graduated in December '99. Stayed on full time for a very nice salaried position with the company I'd been working for. It was short lived though as they went out of business in October of '00. I took the rest of that year off - hey I deserved it! Started a new job in January of '01. I hated my boss, hated most the clients, was boring. I had been receiving calls from clients I'd done work for at previous job. All wanting me to do after hours work for them on the side. In the meantime, two of my first three paychecks bounced at the new job. Which totally sucked considering I was really needing money and we only got checks once a month there. I decided to quit my new job on the spot. Told my boss that by not paying me he had breached my contract. He put up a fuss. I then told him I was going to the DA to file against him for writing bad checks. End result - I was out about 4k in pay which I never recovered. The boss went back home to Switzerland where he was from. But it was a great day! March 20, 2001. I effectively went into business on my own. I took on a lot of those old clients and actually a few from the new place I'd worked at for three months. Just over four years later, all is going well and I remain self-employed. My previous job during my last couple of college years and beyond really prepared me to go into business for myself. I still keep in touch with my old boss and his family. I love my work and rarely get stressed out by it. I am occasionally looking for people to help out with weekend computer work/projects and pay around 20 an hour for the work. So if you have read this far and have such skills, PM me sometime. Just started traveling over the past couple of years. Been to 11 states so far and have enjoyed most of them. I do not like West Virginia. :dis: Hope to travel out of country soon and it would be my first time. I may end up doing some project work for a client in their offices in Tokyo and The Phillipines sometime soon. I've had the same girlfriend since September of last year. With the exception of a rough couple of weeks earlier this year. Some of you may have read that post. :hihi: She's been really great to me and has enthusiastically participated in LSU related things with me. Pinch me, I must be dreaming! LSU! There you have it, the boring and mundane life of Greg aka LSUGradin99. Note: No way in hell am I checking this long post for typos! A few more thoughts: Hobbies.... I find that I go through hobbies in phases. I used to love tweaking computers but now that it is a career I do not care about my home computer. As long as I can use it to do invoices, check email, do remote management, and browse the web, it is fine for me. I've played a lot of tennis, am a decent pool player... but do not do either very much lately. Lately I have taken on what has turned out to be an expensive hobby. I've setup a saltwater reef aquarium earlier this year. Four thousand dollars and four months later, it's coming along nicely! :hihi: The constant tweaking and planning is what makes this new hobby interesting to me. Ok, I am done now.. I think...
You do realize that 4 grand would buy a nice methanol injection system that would produce some massive HP ....right? IF I shopped the parts for you that is. salt water fishys? man the stuff folks waste money on sheesh! :dis:
