I am 39 years old, will be the big 40 in August and am scared as my youthful days of old are going by at an alarming rate.
I have been married for 11 years and have 2 children, Tyler 4 and Cammy 3 months old, we were going to have 2 but with Cammy's condition we decided to have 1 more
    next year.
My favorite place in the whole wide world is Alaska, I would live their my whole life if I
could but it isn't possible right now.
I lived in Hammond and Ponchatula until age 5 then we moved to Sebring, Fla until my
Sophmore year with the exception of a year and a half of living in Valdez, Alaska.
I treasure that the most out of my childhood.
My sophmore year we moved to San Antonio and I finished high school there and lived
    there for about 5 years,
I also lived in Baton Rouge and Houston working for Rock N Roll bands and worked at High Neighbor and McDonalds on Florida Blvd at the age of 20.
I use to hang out at the Sports Page in those days.
That didn't last too long because I toured circuits with bands accross the southeast including Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee.

I play guitar and own a guitar center "Jackson" special, a Jimmy Vaughn Fender and
    a Ovation statesman acoustic.
I use to be pretty decent but I haven't played in years, the computer revolution kinda
took over and ruined my musical career.
I've lived in Florida, Alaska, California, Louisiana, Texas, Colorado and Kentucky for 2 weeks, thats another story!

I've always been a hard worker and have put in lots of extra hours over the years.
My wife decided to start a business and it has been pretty successful, we have a
cleaning business and 2 employees and neither of us have worked for anyone in about
    3 years.
My wife has a BA in graphic arts and decided she can make better money owning a
    Cleaning company.

I like EA Sports games, my favorite time of the year is the fall, LSU football and the NFL, cooler weather
I love to grill and have my own tailgating party at home before the big game.

I love living in Colorado also, no more heat and humidity, Alaska cured me of that!
I am a conservative American who is a bit old fashioned in his views for instance no
more welfare or social security, people should be able to take care of themselves
instead of take, take, take, there are some exceptions to the rule though.

My favorite movies are Clint Eastwood except for Bronco Billy type, the Inlaws (origional), Star Wars and Roger Moore as 007, Band of Brothers!
My musical influences are the Beatles, Statler Bros, Styx, Barry Manilow, anything but
    rap.
Sorry this is long but this is my story and I'm stickin to it.
    I beat TE's post finally!!!

    Great thread.

I find that I have a lot in common with some of you and not much with others :hihi:

57, married 31 years, two grown sons.

Went to LSU in 1965 & 1966. My niece and nephew did what I didn't do, graduate.

Sent 20 years in the Air Force 1966 - 1986. Also a Vietnam vet. Have been in Colorado since 1972 with the exception of one year (1982). Obviously I love it. No humidity or mosquitoes.

Work for a government contractor for the Air Force. We operate their Satellite Control Network.

Travel a fair amount, although thank goodness not as much as I used to. Been to 49 states (Montana missing) and at last count over 60 countries.

Miller Genuine Draft is the beer of choice. Have become quite fond of Crown with a splash of water. It's the ideal pain killer for lower back pain :thumb:

Conservative Republican. Can't remember the last Democrat I voted for (if ever??)

Other than sports and the various Discovery channels I don't watch TV.

Have made a return trip to Tiger Stadium the past three falls. The trip in 2002 was the first time back since 1965.

Still love Cajun food. Thanks to the Internet I'm able to whip up gumbo, jambalaya, and etoufee when the urge strikes (which is often).

No musical talent although I love to listen to most stuff except Rap. Big fan of The Eagles, Chicago, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Ray Charles and gasp Elton John.

Went to school with the lead singer of TOTO and lived two houses down the street from Marcia Ball.

    I'm 18, won't turn 19 until next March.

I live on an island in Florida, I'm a senior in high school, but only until May 20th.

I'm going to LSU next year, they gave me some scholarship, pays for 5k of my tuition every year, but I've got to keep a 3.0 to keep it, we will see how that goes.

My dad went to LSU way back a long time ago, but he had to drop out to take care of his family. He raised me an LSU fan my whole life, then he flipped out when I told him I wanted to go to LSU, and not the University of Florida.

My sister is a Gator, but I don't hold it against her, I like going to Gainesville every now and then.

I watch ESPN way too much, I really have no idea what channel anything is outside of ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, and FSN.

I used to play basketball, football, and baseball, but I quit all that after my sophomore year, but I still love working out.

I still consider the best day of my life to be January 4th, 2004. Not many people can say they witnessed LSU win the national championship in person. I can.

I'm excited to get out of school, but I'm not excited about the summer really, I'm ready for LSU and football season.

Like any good LSU football fan, I love Crown, straight, with ginger ale, or with coke, I don't care.

42 here. I seldom drink, I'll have a corona with you to be social. I quit years ago, I think I used up my allotment of Hooch as a kid. No desire to consume mass quanities anymore. I've never smoked. I am a fat boy, bout 260...I love to cook and cook well. Love to see people enjoy themselves socially with good food and drink.

I married "up" my wife is much prettier than folks would expect, she grew up poor and I often ask her if she is blind? LOL Great girl, they don't make them hard working as she is anymore. She's from Longview TX. Been married 17 years this June. I have a 14 year old daughter, she loves going to bed early, school, country music and church. I know it has to be a dream. She can't be a teen. Very envolved in her youth group at church, so is my wife. They drag me along as proof that they have a male in their midst.

My wife pokes me during the sermon if I doze off, then she giggles.

I grew up in Crowley, went to redemtrist elementary. Lived a few blocks from Edwin edwards. I used to lay in my bunk bed at night and listen to LSU on the raido, my dad would lay in the bottom bunk. We were very religious about listening to LSU football. Moved with my dad and mom to hattiesburg MS my Junior year HS. My dad got transfered. I grew up "middle class" by no means poor, but not rich either.

The LSU ritual continued even if I was out on a date, I'd turn on the radio to hear the game from WWL.
I never went to LSU, just several home games with my Dad.

I went to jr college at PRC in Poplarville, near Bogalusa, then later went to USM in Hattiesburg. I went to school on a music scholarship. I played football until I hurt my knee in a car accident, ( high school ) then I decided it was time to take up band. Sat first chair trumpet the whole time. I guess it was just easy, my mom played piano by ear so maybe that was it. I dunno. Music is easy to me. I like all types, except rap.

I graduated with honors in electronic technology, at that time USM had not yet received it's engineering acreditation ( SP?).

Moved to Longview Tx after graduation to work in the oil field. Worked for 5 years with schlumberger wireline going all over Texas, North LA., and OK, servicing Oil wells. Money was good. I met my wife when she moved in next door to me. At the time I didn't know it.

I moved to Batesville MS with my wife 15 years ago. I'd never heard of it before that. It's 60 miles south of memphis and 20 miles west of oxford, smack dab in enemy territory. very rural. Good people.
I moved here because I wanted to get out of the oil field, it makes you old fast. I went to work in automations and communications ( basically electronics ) for a gas pipeline. My wife has a cleaning business, kinda like Sourghdough. I also have an FCC license, master's electrician's license so I run a couple of Journeymen on the side for extra income. We do fiber optic, comm cable, PLC, hell anything you want if it's wire, conduit or automation I can do it.
Current project is a remote shutdown for the NHRA to keep these top fuel accidents from killing people. I'm working with a software writer to develop a spread spectrum shutdown with I/O PLC capabilities to shut down these fast cars when the driver blacks out from G force.

I have 3 dogs, Petey, Duke and Beaux. Beaux is half lab and half snauzer ( sp?) he sleeps inside with us.
We love dogs. can you tell?

I spose I am a conservative, although not affliated with any one party.

Car racing is my hobby. I also build motors for guys, do a little bit of painting flames. I have a shop out back I love to play in. Car racing is a jealous mistress. Luckily my wife isn't jealous. I'll spend 2 grand a month on stuff for my car, then gripe about being broke. then my wife will tell me that next month I am on a budget! lol

I am starting to feel the pain of all these years of drag racing, 25 years. I can still get over the roll bars but it isnt as easy. I guess I need a driver but it's hard to give up the driver duties.

I became adicted to Drag racing at age 15 when my Aunt gave me a 70 Mach 1 Mustang because it was "too much" for her. I was immediately in love, so was Dad. We cherished this car. No one where I went to HS had anything like that, even in Hattiesburg. I distictly remember it would burn the tires in 3 of the 4 gears. had a 428 SCJ big block with a 4 speed. For those days, it was wicked fast.

In the winter my dad comes down to the shop, he is blind and has lymphomia, anyway, I fry turkey (s) on holidays, while he drinks an egg nog and Some crown. usually listen to some sports. he loves NASCAR and he cant understand why I like drag racing so much. He lives with my sis in memphis. He only likes "cajun" music. My Mom is deceased, she died of a lung disorder 10 years ago. All my family are dupree's on my grandmother's side. Some Guidrys as well.

My brother in law is in afganistan ( Army Captn ) and when home he is a federal prosecutor. My sister is a shelby county prosecutor for the DA in memphis.
    I hate memphis, it's a war zone.

I'm a moderator on memphis racing a local racing forum with as many members as tiger forums.
I live on a lake but i never have much time to fish, although I do manage to do some crappie fishing every spring. I love fresh crappie fried. much better than catfish. Also I love tabasco sauce, the more the better.

wow thats really too much info. sorry

some add ons by yours truly...............................

I hate cats. I once buried one alive after stuffing sand down its throat. I also used to throw them in a garbage can with a dog. That was kid stuff though. I'm not inclined to do that now.

I've been low carbing it for a year now. I actually enjoy it.

I feel like I've got a 6th sense at judging people that I see for the 1st time. I'm pretty damn good at it. I would say that I'm right 98% of the time.

    My father is my hero.

The only food I cannot and will not eat is meatloaf.

I had pretty bad asthma when I was a young kid. I outgrew it the summer before my junior year in high school.

Coolest city that I've ever been to is San Francisco.

I'm a stout Repubican. I always vote a straight ticket.

    I hate liars.

    I'm a middle child.

I'm always early or on time. I hate people that are late.

    I'm very vocal and opinionated.

I look down on people that wear dirty or unpolished shoes.

I like to stick to a schedule. If I'm in a meeting, social gathering event, or somewhere like church or Sunday school for example and it is supposed to end at a certain time, I expect to be dismissed at that exact time. Otherwise I start to get angry and figity. One could say that I start to go ADD. I'm really a stickler about time. If it doesn't end on time, I will just walkout. Drives my wife nuts.

I can't stand talking on the phone. If you call me get to the point. I don't want to converse like a woman for 15 minutes.

I need to improve on praising people. It's much easier to criticize them.

I like to sing to the radio or a cd while driving. I know I actually suck, but part of me tells me that I'm good.

Peabody, do you have an inner need for people to like you? Just curious. You seem like one of those guys that has a good bit of friends but worries when someone doesn't like them. I too, am an astute observer of people & society (although it's tough to do over an internet site).

Interesting story about me: I was an only child for 8 years until my Mom remairried to a man with 2 children - suddenly I was the youngest child with 2 brothers, 3 & 10 years older than me. Four years later, my mom & stepdad had a baby. I became a middle child with a brother 11 years younger than me, and 2 older brothers. I was the middle child. Five years after that, my mom and stepdad got a divorce - I no longer had two older brothers, only a younger brother. For the past four years I've been the oldest child. Psychologists say that birth order is very important in determining who were are & our personal characteristics. As one of my psychology teachers put it, I'm either extremely screwed up or really, really well rounded.

No, not at all. I've never been one to care if somebody doesn't like me. Actually, I've never been one to care if somebody has anything negative to say about the way I act, dress, or what I say.

Sometimes, it drives my wife and my older daughter nuts. Sometimes, they think they have to impress people or act a certain way to gain their acceptance. Not me, what you see is what you get. I've got nothing to hide and I don't play the stupid little mind games that a lot of people play pertaining to what I mentioned above.

If I needed people to like me or worried when someone didn't, I would spend most of my time posting on rival boards like tigerforums or many of the Texas Longhorn message boards that I do.

Ha, that reminds me of when I was 4. My sister, 2 years older than me, and I were climbing a tree in our back yard (back when I was still able to pick my feet up higher than 6 inches off the ground, heh). Well we wanted our cat to climb the tree with us so we tied a rope around it's neck and pulled it up, essentially hanging it.

btw, I'm surprised that was your observation about me.

    An example of me.

We went on a little league baseball tournament trip this past weekend to Kansas. All the parents got together on Friday and Saturday night to visit, chat , go eat together, etc. etc.

I did my own thing, which was go eat where I wanted to eat, stay in my room and watch DVDs on my laptop, and do whatever else I wanted to do. A few of the parents commented to me during the trip that I was being anti-social. I did't care. I respect their comments, but it's not going to change my behavior as far as what I want to do. If they don't like it, tough titty.

At todays league game, some of those same baseball parents were commenting to my wife, who didn't make the trip because my daughter had activities that she had to attend, that I was being anti-social at the Kansas trip. She knew that was just me being me because I am social when I want to be and I'm not social when I don't want to be. I choose my own behavior regardless of the rest of the crowd.
