From an unbiased prospective, I thought they did a good job over all. Pretty down the middle. Musberger is the best that College Football has to offer.
Hmmm, I didn't think that Musberger and Danielson were unkind to LSU at all. I thought they pretty much called a balanced game. But I too was unhappy with the lack of instant replays (particularly the "interference" call against Webster). On the double penalty against LSU on the field goal they cut away from the referee after he announced the holding and missed him calling the personal foul. And they seemed always to be late flashing up the down and distance and sometimes didn't post it at all. So from at least a visual point the production was subpar, at least to me.
Can anyone tell me what was the personal foul that happened on the field goal? The TV never showed, or explained it.
I think a lot of Fans of all teams don't like to hear one bad thing about their team or one good thing about the other team. Danielson was great, his analysis of the game was right on; Mush was good, wasn't gushing about OU anymore than us and he wasn't so overbearing as he can be at times. The instant replay was lacking on several thins and they didn't use the proper camera angle on some of the replays that they did show. I was also kind of glad that Saunders and the other 2 didn't go into the bottle throwing any more than they did, can't believe some of these idiot fans we have.
You had a hands-to-the-face by an LSU offensive lineman followed by unsportsmanlike. Saban in the postgame, when questioned, didn't argue the unsportsmanlike call. He did say that he had never in all his years seen a 30-yd penalty on a fieldgoal. He stated that he wanted to go back and watch the tape, cause with all the guys inside jumping to try and get a block, he thought the call was a bit much since there is so much going on inside. He was careful to say he wasn't saying anything about the officials, but he pretty much was.
Another thing that sucked about ABC's coverage is that all you could hear was the annoying OU fight song "Sooner Boommers" or whatever the hell it is called. That is just the worst composure of music I have ever heard!!
Thanks captain, i thought it was holding. I think that everyone's confusion as to what happened during certain plays and what not proves that ABC's "Coverage" was sub par. Coverage is the use of cameras, tape(replays), reporters, commentators, and such to bring every play clearly to the viewers. I don't think that was done several times.
I think ABC did a pretty good job of unbiased coverage during the game but the lack of replays definitely sucked. ESPN on the other hand did nothing but suck USuCk's nuts the entire pregame, in game and post game. Herbstreit said "USuCk is better than LSU on BOTH sides of the ball"!!!! Message to Herby CRACK KILLS MORON!!!!!! USC's defense couldn't hold the LSU D's jock. It's like comparing a highschool defense(USuCk) to a pro defense(LSU), they don't even belong on the same field together!!!! I was pleasantly suprised with ABC's coverage while the same ole suck nuts from ESPN.
The only ball park reasonable explaination I could give for Kirk's statement is he meant LSU's D vs. USC's O, and USC's D vs. LSU's O. He maybe was trying to say that USC wins both of those matchups. Wrong, however. First of, wasn't Oklahoma's offense better than USC's?? Secondly, wasn't Oklahoma's defense better than USC's?? What happened with those matchups?
