Next time try to put more thought into your posts. I try to relate to you on some intellectual level which it seems you simply like to respond with the same rhetoric, rehashing what was said over and over. There will be no further discussions from me when its obvious one wants no true answer....only what you perceive.

Someone had it right....the victim mentality was spot-on. Next time you want to discuss something as opposed to simply crying foul, let the other posters know. It seems we all have it wrong while you're the only one who 'gets' it. Congrats. You've simply made people who wanted to discuss something intelligently with you stereotype you as the person you have made yourself out to be. Whatever race you are, you're pathetic individually as a person. If a federal handout could fix that, I'd be all for it.

just so we are on the same page, please explain what you mean by opportunity.

all babies are born into this world with no knowledge of right or wrong, racism or sexism. all states have public schools that are state regulated and funded that teach our youth the skills needed to be successful in life. some students apply themselves, become successful, and lead successful lives. others do not try, fall on the wayside, and blame everyone else in society because they feel they are wronged. to my knowledge, our schools do not pick out certain people and purposely fail them just for grins and giggles. the opportunity is there, it is what you do with it that counts.

so tell me, what opportunity are you speaking of.

I'm tallking about the denying of opportunity based on race. Opportunities such as jobs, college, primary schooling, loans, exc. I used my cousin as an example. Smart as tack, but only with what he's been taught. He's expected to make a 30 on the ACT but he was never taught it b/c of piss poor teachers(black and white) in many black public schools. Give us funding and real educators. He then is punished when he wants to go to a good school, not b/c of anything he did wrong.

    quote by Martin,
nobody is entitled to anything because of their ancestors. this is like caveman tribalism. it matters none who your ancestors were.

nobody can seem to understand this. they are christian because their parents were, or muslim because their parents were, or feel entitled because their grandparents had it bad, or feel slighted because their ancestors 300 years ago were slaves.

well get over it people, learn to think for yourselves. stop caring about your stupid races and ethnicities and religions. it is all based on accident of birth, forget about your dumbass tribal mentality and live in today.

it is this opinion that keeps "chips on the old shoulder" and racism alive and well in America. If people would stop whining and complaining about what happened many years ago when none of us were alive and try to make today's world as good as possible, we would not have half the racial tensions we do. that goes for the Indians and the slaves....EVERY DAMN BODY!!!!!!

unless you are personnaly being wronged today, drop it and move on.

I was listening to a local talk show in Denver with some school teachers as
    guests.
They were saying that alot of "the good" school teachers are leaving the field
because parents these days don't do thier part by teaching kids ABC's and how to read before they start school.
They also say the kids aren't being disciplined and if the teacher was to do
that she will get into trouble.
Raising kids shouldn't be left up to the teacher.
I think this is a valid and important part that needs to be considered when
talking about poor teachers and education.

    Bottomline,
The whole education system can't be fixed by $$$, parents aren't pulling thier weight in alot of cases.

This is just sad, all kids suffer because of this...

IF AA DIDNT DEAL WITH PEOPLE OF VASTLY DIFFERENT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WOULD NOT HAVE TO ADD POINTS TO A BLACK MANS SCORE TO GET HIM ABOVE THE OTHER APLLICANT. IF THE MAN WAS AS GOOD AS THE OTHER ONE, HIS SCORE WOULD BE EQUAL IN THE BEGGINING. SINCE RACE IS NOT SOMETHING ASKED FOR ON AN APPLICATION IT WOULDNT MATTER AND AA IS A MUTE POINT.

WHAT FREAKING PART OF THIS DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND.

AGAIN IF YOU'RE SO "EQUAL" IN YOUR QUALIFICATIONS WHY DO YOU NEED A LITTLE HELP ON YOUR ACT OR TEST SCORES? OR WHY DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO WHISPER IN THE EAR OF THE HUMAN RESOUCRES MANAGER AND TELL HIM TO HIRE A MINORITY? MY GOD A SIMPLETON CAN SEE THIS. :dis:
