This point will be interesting to watch. If LSU has to bring those glorified safeties in the box to stop the run, the big play is on.
To get a "big play" your QB will still have to get the ball past our superior(to your recievers) DB's ie..Mathieu, Claiborne, Brooks,Simon,Reid, Loston and the list goes on. Which has proven to be very difficult so far this year.:thumb:
True, Mathieu and Claiborne have been exploited one-on-one so many times this season. McCarron should definitely try some deep balls against them.
Drifting on me Tappy. Not talking about the past DB's just the teams that will play in 10 days. Were you impressed with Ark? I went into the season thinking they would be great offensively but that QB didn't wow me. Wait until your D faces the highest ranked passer in the SEC.:yelwink2:
A group of Tigers is called an ambush or streak. The "plan" for TR is like an ambush of real bengal tigers -- one LSU Tiger will slow him down by grabbing an arm, a leg or a jersey and the others will QUICKLY be on top of him until he's on the ground. He may get a couple of yards here and there, possibly break one or two long ones but, while we won't stop him completely, he can be slowed way down. LSU is a TEAM, whereas Bama seems to mainly be about one player. :geaux:
Wow I missed those "big plays". We gave up alot of yards by the short screen routes but did they come out with a W? Not in the game I watched. Just throw it deep and see my friend. With your punting game it may be a good idea!!
Ugly as it was, it was Chavis' way of keeping Gino in check and we won that game handily. We won't be playing defense against Bama the same way. :geaux:
