You know you got a good run game when your RB's get 150 yards on the ground and had a hard time running the ball... That is prob the best anyone has done all year. If LSU keeps Bama under that, I like their chances. LSU's seconday is not Tennessee's. And neither is Bama's for that matter. If Bama can't run then LSU's D line will get 5-6 sacks and it will be a struggle to get consistent drives. If LSU can't run, Bama will rush their 3/4 guys all night and force LSU to take underneath passes until Lee can't take it anymore and tries to bight off more than he can chew.
Well in my defense, I was told that my team has only played cupcakes, and what we have accomplished means nothing... I also stated that I do not believe that this is the recipe for us to win this game, and that it will be a hard fought battle, that I look forward to. Also look at my original post, and how all this started. I have been nothing but respectful, aside from times when I have felt the same amount of disrespect has been directed towards me. I am sorry, if I came off the wrong way.
So you are telling me that because someone made a slight against your OPPONENTS that such caused you to say that LSU's running game SUCKS? I don't think so. That ain't gonna fly, but I'll take you at your word that you mean no malice towards us, but you'll have to back that up going forward by being respectful, not engaging the homers here, and treading lightly. It's not a matter of right or wrong...you are on our board. We need to be nothing but respectful on your board or else we would deservingly get hammered. This is not a fair, 50/50 board where everyone must be fair to each team. This is an LSU-biased board. If you are going to come in here, you have to have some measure of thick skin.
Bama's defense is built for the run. The pressure we've been getting on QB's has not included a lot of exotic blitzes. So no matter how often teams have gone to the running well, at anytime of the game, they came out dry. That alone gives coach Saban a lot of defensive flexibility in this game.
It’s all clear now. No matter how good any other team is, Alabama and Nick are just always better. I guess that’s why you have won two out of the last eight games against LSU. ldskule:
What it does mean is, if you can stay base, you stay balanced. Selling out to stop the pass is just begging a good offense to run draws and screens for big ones. Loading up the box is inviting explosive passing plays from a balanced offense. I think I just explained why these two teams come into this game #1 and#2.
I don't agree at all... Factors such as the ones I mentioned are key in games like those. The difference in one play ran twice, working one time, and not working another comes down simply to focus, and thus execution.
But you kind of skirted the question don't you think. Which was, agree or disagree - Saban's 12-2 season (2nd year) was with mostly Shula players. And to a lesser extent his third year.
Oh no doubt. Obviously Shula's players had a big part in Saban's 12-2 season, no question. I agree with that. If you'd like to address the counter point being made that Les Miles stepped into a much easier situation to be successful at LSU than did Saban at Alabama, feel free.
