What has me laughing is that you all think that at some point I said that SOS means nothing. Amazing how defensive people get at times lol.
That's not what I have seen happen to every single other team Alabama has played, but I keep forgetting that we have only played cupcakes all season, padded our stats, and to look at this, what I consider a clear advantage to Bama, is just plain stupid...
I don't know .... bama had a hard time running against tn, but still won handily! There is too many dynamics to make that call, IMO.
I actually think LSU has a better chance of stopping our passing game, rather than the run game. What are your thoughts on that, and the possibilities? And do you think we will take advantage of that if we are in a tough situation?
Very good definition of what power running teams are trying to accomplish. It is as much about fatigue and attrition as yards gained. Getting stuffed at the line shouldn't discourage either from their gameplan. Both teams know what will happen, if you don't continue to give the rush offense FULL attention. I do believe the first team that has to leave their base defense to adjust to the rushing game, to keep it under control, is at the disadvantage. In fairness, that would also go for the passing game as well.
Don't look much into that Tennessee game... That was a rivalry, trap game, and we came out slow looking ahead, and not focusing. The team leaders didn't step up and get the team back in it, after that INT from AJ, until half time.
No, what has people getting defensive is when you say our running game sucks, and your demeanor here, more and more, is that you guys are going to roll us. There is a measure of disrespect in some of your comments. On the other side, most of us here are showing nothing but respect for Bama, even though we are hopeful that we will win.
This is what worries me... I am afraid that we will be getting shut down with the passing game, and not be able to convert those precious 3rd downs that we have been so good at converting all season. The thing I like, and have noticed about our defense, is that when teams have seemingly abandoned the run, we keep a plan in place that allows us to continue to defend against the run IF necessary.
You certainly are entitled to your opinions, but not your facts. Funny how you can easily dismiss something that doesn't work in your favor. My analysis of the game is similar to others above: it's gotta played on the field. Very closely matched teams. Who will execute better? Turnovers? Unit matchups, etc. All this other stuff is peripheral nonsense.
