You are right. No one knows what the hell is going to happen week in week out. I hate comparing teams against each other by using a common team they've played, because everything depends on match ups. Some teams just match up better against certain competition, and sometimes there is just no explanation as to why. One thing is for sure, in the recent past the LSU/Bama game has been ridiculously close, and it wouldn't surprise me if it stays that way.
Yes. remember the colts vs saints in the super bowl? espn had a HUGE hardon for peyton manning. they acted like he never lost, never threw an interception and every single pass was a touchdown. well, he lost and so will trent richardson.
Can't remember which game, but Kendrick Adams (not the fastest of our D-line) caught a RB from behind 20 yards downfield. I was amazed. :geaux:
YEP ... I mean .. both of these teams have great strengths. T. Richardson is just fricken awsome ..it's like the guy has a force field around him that repels tacklers. Bama's Defense is just so impressive. Upshaw scares me just watching on the TV ... [especiall with 3D glasses on .. find myself ducking sometimes]. McCarron ... really has turned it on here of late, and I know that is helping Bama's WR core develop and become more of a threat. LSU has it's strengths as well, and great players. [which have been talked about ad nauseum ... but hey, we are on the LSU Tigers board. But in the end, you never know how the two teams will match up until the game. And .. I agree ... these two teams always play close games. But that's what makes the LSU/Bama games so exciting :thumb: .... Of course, it's more exciting when we win!! :geaux:
Sounds like we should trade TV's... Trent is something else. I think it was on an Arkansas meltdown board, someone said, "Tackling Trent Richardson is like tackling a moving golf cart" and I thought that was about right. haha But this LSU D isn't Arkansas. They are so big and move so well, it is just going to be an amazing match up. If LSU's first guy can bring Trent down on multiple occasions, that would go a long way. But it rarely happens. On a different subject, how much do you guys expect Jefferson to play? Approx how many snaps? Does the bye week mean getting him more involved? From an outsider's perspective, I would stick with Lee for almost every play... But that's just me.
I haven't read through every page yet, so I'm not sure if this has been pointed out, but... All I have to say about that is this: Most of our secondary isn't even eligible for the draft, but once they are, they will be projected pretty high. As for Dre vs. Mo draft rankings, we are talking about 12th overall vs. 13 overall. Not exactly the landslide you make out. NFL Draft - 2012 Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com
Les Miles has played almost every game straight up this year. No need for trickery. If we see any of it, it might be in this game and it might involve JJ. Well, maybe it isn't trickery, but I would expect to see him pass the ball more than you expect. And without saying whether I agree with playing JJ or not, I suspect Miles will use him to keep things mixed up. Part of the strategy of dealing with your D, other than the obvious, is going to be to mix things up and show y'all some stuff you haven't seen on tape this season. At least that is my guess.
