Well, Muschamp ain't on our coaching staff, and we've got much better athletes than he's had to work with. Our DL had no trouble "chasing down" LMJ, who is pretty flight of foot, wouldn't you say?
Difference between chasing down LMJ is that when you catch him, he's down. When you catch Trent Richardson, you still have to tackle him. Let's hope we wrap up well and play disciplined D against them.
Nice thread, everyone. QB- LSU, easily RB- Get off Trent's nuts, please. WR- LSU, firmly OL- Tossup DL- LSU, because there is 4 to Bama's 3 every play and LSU always dominates DL. LB- Bama, the 3-4 is based on having great LB's. Upshaw is the best in the country and has a knack for making plays. CB- It could go either way. I'd prob say LSU slight advantage, but most likely all 3 of Bama's will be higher picks when they come out. ST- LSU, easily. Great punting, good FG's. Bama can't claim either (except chip shots). Bama has a good return game, but that is to make up for piss ass punting. Coach- I'm one of the few Bama fans that loves Miles. But come on now, Miles ain't no Saban. Real talk. So all in all, the only true advantage whatsoever in this game is Alabama being at home. If the '09 game was in Death Valley, LSU wins that one (sometimes the home team gets a call...:yelwink2, and if last year's game was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama wins. The home field advantage is worth 3-4 points in every game. If LSU wins, they will have to play a hell of a game. There is a bit more slack for Bama being at home, and for that reason (along with Trent Richardson being the best player on the field), I like Bama by the slimmest of margins.
Saban may or may not be the best coach in college football, but one thing is for sure...he's the the most self-serving, boring jerk of a coach on any level of national football.
Correct. However, tusk seemed to imply that we simply wouldn't be able to "catch up" to Rent with our DL, and that simply ain't true. Our DEs are as fast as some running backs.
Much appreciated, sir. It's fun talking football with people that can be open minded. This is literally a once in a lifetime regular season game, so I would love to analyze the crap out of it as much as possible! haha. LSU is the only other team in the SEC I can root for. The first Bama game I ever got to see was vs LSU, and the your fans made it a great experience. Since then, I've grown to appreciate the program.
Well ..I'm about through analyzing it. I'm just going to sit back and wait. It'll be a good game, and fun to watch. The problem with analyzing it, no two teams line up the same. It's just like last year ... Bama beat Arky .. LSU beat Bama .. Arky beat LSU. Makes no sense at all. All I got to say ... IF LSU beats Bama .. for gods sake, we can't let Arky beat LSU. That would be a disaster, Arky in the NC ... sure way for the SEC to lose for the first time in years.
