I'm a HUGE Maiden fan and even though their popularity exploded in the 80s, no, they're not a hair band either. When I think of hair bands, I think of Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt, and bands like that.

Judas Priest, Metallica, Maiden, Megadeth are true metal bands that really let their music define them, not their fashion or hair dos.
