The NFL suspended several players this year for taking a water pill because it might be able to mask steroids. Ill give Goodell the benefit of the doubt. It's still a random process and guys might get away with it long enough to get their big contracts, but I believe the league is genuinely trying to do what they can to keep it out. regardless, my hatred of baseball stems from the long ass season, no pro teams in La, and ridiculously large contracts compared to sports where actual physical talent is required.
i believe so too. I just know its rampant in all sports. thats like having hatred of hockey. just choose to ignore it. yet here you are complaining like its relevant to you. what difference would that make dont let your hatred cause ignorance.
the sport is played six months out of the year and is in the news all 12 months, along with being on every network channel and cable sports channel throughout the season. hard to ignore. eta: no hometown sports team means no allegiance and reliance on out of state cats to provide entertainment. I read Canseco's box scores every morning for about 5 years. I looked up to the Bash Brothers as heroes. This whole sordid pile of crap has made me hate the sport. Please educate me, Turkleton.
yeah i figured it was because its covered by mainstream constantly. not locally though. you can pretty much avoid it. you should learn to accept it. its not going anywhere. it certainly is a pile of crap just because its in the forefront as opposed to other sports. merriman is still lauded the all-pro star for the chargers and he juiced. he has plenty company. baseball players are judged on statistics. it doesnt make it any less of a sport. it just changes our perspective. football was never as pure. something baseball claimed to be with "the natural" type ballplayers, etc. you know it takes a tad amount of athleticism to hit a 90 mph slider and no amount of drugs is going to help most.
At least he's in the HOF. Roger Maris is gone forever. The upcoming generation may never even hear of the guy. Nobody ever brags about 7th place on an all time list. But even Hank is going to fade away. He's 2nd right now. A-Roid may knock him down to 3rd, hell Pujols may also catch him. Not many casual fans can ever name who is in 4th place. No gambling on baseball. period, end of discussion. That rule is plastered on the walls of every clubhouse in the game. Has been there for decades. Pete knew it, and chose to ignore it. He stays out. Just like the Black Sox from 1919.
I'd argue that playing DefensiveBack and returning kicks in football is easier than hitting a breaking ball.
